I disagree w/ both those points. What makes u think the Mavs cant contend for the next 3-5 years? Just because of Shaq and Kobe? The Kings were a very good team 2 years ago, but got swept by the Lakers that year. But they grew up, became an excellent team, and took the Lakers to overtime in game 7 last year. I think the mavs could accomplish the same thing next year. The main thing they were lacking was defense, toughness, and experience. Well, they got their experience last year in the playoffs, and Zo will bring the toughness and defense. They could easily contend with the Kings and Lakers next year if they grow up and mature together.

Also, if u are asking for Zo from the heat, u are asking for their franchise player. u are not going to get that for van axel and Lafrentz. It would have to be Lafrentz and Finley. And the Mavs are in a position they can trade away both of them and still get better.

LA, could they be dethroaned? I think the answer is yes. They proved to less than invinsible this last playoff run. I believe a young up and coming team like Dallas could give LA fits! Dont be surpised if the Western Confernce Finals include Dallas and Sacarmento!

If they get Zo thats not impossible

    LaFrentz can't be traded for...what? 3 months?

I don't even know if he's Riley's type of player (willing to endure twelve hours of practice a day and play 42 minutes per game). Raef'd work better with Grant than Zo; when Zo returned for a full season, Grant's numbers dropped, as both players operate out of the low post.

I still think Grant would get moved before Zo (for an ending contract).

I don't know if Dallas could pull off this trade, but if all they would have to give up was Nick and Raef; I know Cuban would jump on it in a heart beat.
