Eh it's worth it honestly. This was the summer to go after that last piece. We would have no control next summer.

If he will make the max now, he couldn't make more as an unrestricted. Plus we would have had his bird rights.

I think if Parsons gets the max, and we don't trade him right away, if Love doesn't head out, I bet we deal him for Love at the deadline.

Morey wouldn't have made him a RFA if he wasn't prepared to match a max offer.

Paying Parsons the max doesn't matter. The cap is going to explode in a few years and it isn't going to prevent us from doing anything.

Stop freaking out over a non issue.

    Yep I agree.

We were going over the cap for Parsons anyways.

As long as Parsons feels Houston will pay him, there's no point him signing an offer sheet. Hayward though was told by Utah, nope, we're not going anywhere close.

What do you guys not understand. With a third max FA and Chandler at $15mill, where do you think that leaves us in terms of the hard cap/apron?

    This is absolutely an issue

    yes

Yes but why would he give up valuable assets and Parsons for a possible one year rental? If he would he would have thrown it at them by now and we would maybe have Love. GSW will not give up Kay for just a possible rental either. Love has stated that he will not re sign till the end of the year with anyone. He is pulling a Howard.

Its an issue for me because I want to compete already, we can't keep tossing years out the window with Harden and Howard already on the roster. Oh well hopefully this all works out.

BTW I am sure Morey has fully accounted for a CP25 max scenario, including adding a max FA like Bosh. I trust his cap manipulation.

Assuming we get Bosh around 21m first year, and Parsons for max of 14.7m

That's 71m in just 4 players for just the first season. It's going to keep going up and up

If Bosh is a s&t, the apron kicks in, but even if Chandler took $8m, we'd still be too close to the apron to use the full mle. If Bosh is a free agent signing, we don't have the mle, so the only thing we're limited on is no s&t's (when we'd have nothing left to trade anyway)

Why do you answer yes, and then ask that question? That's like saying, Yes i understand how water works, but why am i getting wet when i step in it? You are risk averse, Morey is the complete opposite to you. Morey is Germany, you are Brazil.
