Or the rockets decided to decline his option in an effort to clear up enough cap space for another max player.

I could be wrong about that tho.

But with Morey's assets mentality, I see any move he makes as a way to benefit the team first and foremost. As it should be.

Figure Mo would jump to Cleveland in an instant if LeBron goes there.

Not too nervous with the Parsons scenario. Will suck if we don't get Bosh but I've no doubt we will resign him. Here's hoping he would be reluctant to leave after he spent the summer bringing Dwight here. Seems silly.

This, but if he gets a good contract first, I am not so sure.

Kind of surprising that we haven't heard of a concrete offer to Parsons yet..

Parsons not getting an offer yet tells me the league knows this was a token release and the Rockets have all intentions of matching a reasonable offer and other teams don't want to tie up cap space during the interim.

If we do manage to sign a big fish, I think we'll definitely match almost any offer for Parsons. I don't understand the wannabe analysts who think signing Bosh means there's no money left for Parsons.

But, I think there's a possibility we might not match on Parsons if we don't get a big fish. If we let him walk or S&T him for a guy entering his final contract year, we get one more season and offseason of cap flexibility to try again on the 3rd star. It would suck, but I think it's a possibility depending on how important they really think Parsons is.

That's what sucks if we dont land one this year. There is so much in flux right now. I dont want to lose parsons but I dont want to tie up our cap room either. IMO, murrey matches anything and just builds a better bench around OUR current big 3 and use Parsons as a trade piece later on in the future. KD anyone?

This is why Parsons should go out there and sign the biggest offer sheet he can find...

Im fine with matching his biggest offer sheet. Cause I really dont see us landing anyone this year. We'll just roll with our current lineup. That way he gets PAID in full and moray gets yet another trade piece in the future.

man lance stevenson would be absolutely perfect for the mavs.

they can resign marion and carter for sf/pf depth

play stevenson at the 2 and 3

he is a 2 way player...

Monta Ellis, Stevenson, Carter/Marion, Dirk, Chandler

would be a handful for the next 2 years or so

If they match Parsons contract offer than they should match it because they believe he's a championship piece. Matching it just so the Rockets could have a possible trade piece in the future _ I'm not sure that's a good move for a team with two stars already.

I think this says the rockets got the FA (melo) they wanted so the mavs are butthurt like an ugly friend who got passed on for her hotter younger friend with great cap flexibility and more assets. D.morey got game.

Bold move though.... going after the hottest in the nba.

Dude is still young and needs to get his $$$$$. Why not cut Harden's inconsistent no defense lazy ass? Trade Harden away to make room for paying Parsons.

Melo recently announced that Rox are no longer suitors along with Mavs and etc.. I'd rather have a Bosh anyways.
