Heh, they've got Larry Hughes as well so they got 3 former Warriors in the starting lineup.

Right now Jamison will likely play the 3 with Kwame at the 4. Contrary to the general public's belief, the Managment and Coaching Staff aren't as down on Kwame as you may believe. He's had a rough go of things overall, but he's improved significantly and has shown shades of brilliance. I doubt they'll give up on him, particularly with their penchant for trading big men who then become great players.

Jefferies has actually been the fan's bigger disappointment, he's been woefully ineffective on the offensive end. He was statistically one of the most inefficient and ineffective offensive players in the league. On the plus side he does work hard on D and contribute with some hussle plays. And has somehow gained recognition as a "Lock-down" defender which he isn't.

Hayes will likely backup the 2 and 3 now getting significant minutes, he was off and on as most rookies are through out last year.

As for getting in on the Tmac Franchise deal, it's entirely possible from a marketing standpoint, however I don't think it would be a great idea for the Wizards. As much as I love Steve, he's got a Max contract and Is not drastically better than Arenas, who is locked into a smaller long term deal. However now that saying it's a bad idea, it's very likely that they will in fact try and make that trade :)

Amazing that Stack averaged just a hair under 30 ppg in 2001 ~ I wonder if he gets totatly healthy if he can put up (close to) those numbers again (he's only 29)...

He does not have enough to get Tmac, Shaq and keeps Dirk too.

This thread could have been titled "Mavs take a No. 5 Wiz on Jamison"

Being from Dallas (now living in Houston), I wish that the Mavs had been able to do the same deal with Walker instead of Jamison. I love how Jamison can score in so many ways. He doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective and his an awesome offensive rebounder. A lineup of him, Dirk, Finley, Nash, and a somewhat developed Pavel with their young bench would have been a championship contender 2 years down the road.

That said, it's great that the Wiz were able to move 2 bad contracts in Stack and Laettner, but remember that Jamison and Arenas didn't co-exist very well when the two played together in GState. Jamison complained about the type of (bad) shots that Arenas took. Also, Kwame isn't a big fan of Arenas either... he played his best ball when Arenas was hurt last year, became his inconsistent self when Arenas came back, and said something to the effect that the Wiz play better without Arenas. Unless Eddie Jordan does a great job of coaching, I predict the Wiz will be just as bad next year as they were this past season.

Think about what the Mavs gave up to Jamison (mainly NVE, himself a cap albatros) and what they got for him (#5 pick plus guys who can play even if they are cap albatroses--and the Mavs only care about the former). Great deals by the Mavs.

Still don't know if they have enough for Shaq (or Tmac if that was still on the table) without losing Dirk. Walker, Nash (S&T), Josh Howard, Stack or Finley, LA can probably do better than that.
Dirk and Walker--the Mavs might have a deal there though then the Lakers would have the marshmellow defense of the WC.

What about Shaq for Kmart (S & T), Collins, Kittles, future #1 and possibly Zo (Filler).

I think Webber and Brad Miller (not Bibby as realgm post suggestions) for Shaq would make a lot of sense if those orgs could get over trading with each other.

Again I don't see Dallas being competitive in offers without losing Dirk, and Buss won't do Cuban any favors (if a deal is near equal he would trade him East if he has 1/2 a brain).

What offers does he have from the East? If he doesn't have any offers, he has to trade him to the West.
