That would be a great move for Dallas, especially if Jefferson continues to rebound from his injury. That would give them the size to compete with LA. I still don't know who would guard Kobe though, but it's not as if they have anyone for Dirk.

I hate Dallas but do want to see LA get some competition in the West.

Looks like the Cavs are joining the chase:

    @daldridgetnt

Cavs just got in the Al Jefferson sweepstakes. RT @PDcavsinsider Cavs getting trade exception of up to $16M in s/t for LeBron, plus picks..

Now I read these talks/moves as, the rest of the league not Miami not getting LerBon or Bosh or Wade. It's almost like it's irrelevant. We all know the 4 teams making the semi's are LA, Houston, Magic, Miami. Everyone else is irrelevant.

The biggest news that I take from that is the Heat being able to have more cap space to go after others. It makes sense with them bringing Fisher in tomorrow.

If it helps them get a better record than the Knicks I'm all for it.

Good, keeps him away from Dallas while making Cleveland a threat to NY for that 8th spot...not that either will make it as another team might sneak up.

Cuban is like a baseball owner, take Drayton McLane for instance.

His stars are aging. Dirk Nowitzki, meet Lance Berkman.

The farm system is in disrepair. Low draft picks in first round not having much of an impact on team, check.

Owner says to self, "We can still be champions. All we need to do is throw more MONEY at aging veteran stars." Shawn Marion, meet Carlos Lee.

It's the stretch drive. Time to trade away our young prospects for over-the-hill has-beens. Miguel Tejada/Aubrey Huff, meet Jason Kidd/Caron Butler.

We've still got a shot. Our window's still open. Mark Cuban, meet Drayton McLane. This is who you'll be in three years. You might think you're relevant but you're really just a joke to everyone else.

Interesting article about the Mavs and trying to use Dampier's contract...

Our front-line would be great if we had Jefferson, hopefully Morey is thinking the same thing.

I think Haywood is leaving, and Dampier would probably be traded
    Jefferson
    Dirk
    Marion
    Butler
    Kidd

A good lineup, but I don't think it could beat the Lakers or Miami especially since Kidd and Nowitzki are getting up there

We all know Cuban can't resist shiny objects. If all it takes to get Jefferson is Dumpier's contract + sweeteners you can pretty much count on Jefferson being Cuban's next great "swing for the fences, fail, try again" big move.
