Oh yes I remember. I hate the Mavericks more than anything but can't fault the Mavs for trying to "address" their weak positions when you wanted the same guy too.
It may be fun watching this team just to see how Carlisle handles him. "YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!! WRONG BASKET!!!! ... @%@#%# ..." And we never see Javale again ...
Part of it is a short term shift away from big bruisers towards more finesse players, but it also has to do with your examples. Both McGee and Pachula are pretty much washed up, on par with what Dalembart and Camby were a few years back. Remember, Kanter (who is pretty bad) just got a max deal for being tall, DMo will probably get paid big. Greg Monroe was well sought after in free agent, and centers are consistently top 3 picks.
The Mavs have quietly become my Darkhorse for league pass selection. I'd watch them the same I would a figure 8 race.
If I remember correctly, people were talking about McGee as an upgrade to Dorsey. But I think Mavs are trying to boost their popularity with this signing given he's a favorite on Shaqtin a fool.
LMAO! Can't wait to see how Mr. Sharktank mixes up the blue Koolaid for the MFFLs on how this move makes the Mavs a legitimate playoff team.

I'm so excited about the upcoming Mavs season. They are trying so hard to cobble together a roster that can be successful and they're going to fail so hard. When a team like the Sixers fails by design that is one thing - but when you fail miserably when legitimately trying to win? That's humiliating.
Yes, this will be hilarious. Mcgee at center. Parsons trying to be a star. Ancient no lateral movement Dirk. Deron Williams may have some left in the tank, though.
