Should have seen this coming after Gordon Hayward got 4 yrs/$63M - that was a market moving transaction.

This RFA game has been played a lot by the rockets. Landry, Lowry and now parsons. Each time they didnt give them what they wanted and waited for another team to make an offer. Each time they have matched, so it's time to see if they keep the same track record and match parsons.

Why couldn't Parsons wait an extra day or two? He'd still get his money one way or the other. Unless he always wanted to go to Dallas, ugh.

Im pretty sure it was either:

    A) Morey told Parsons thats too much money and they will wait to see if Bosh signs before they even think about paying him that much. Parsons felt like Rockets might not match and that offer may not be on the table by the time Bosh decides. So he signed asap.

    B) Cuban wanted to really screw us over so he told Parsons either sign it first thing when free agency opens, or the offer will be gone.

Parsons seems like an extremely extroverted person who is ready to go out and party with anyone, all the time. He'd probably be out with Cuban if he happened to be in Dallas regardless of what was going on. That he did just sign a max deal with the Mavs and very well may be working for Cuban in 3 days makes it all the more reason he should be going to the club. What should he tell Cuban? That he's just using him for leverage so he can get a max deal out of the Rockets?

Umm, this is max money. The contract is just a year shorter so that he can sign another contract for even more money once he's a 6-year vet and eligible for a higher max.

The max for him right now is $14.746m, with a 4.5% raise. That makes year 2 $15.410m and year 3 $16.073m, for a sum total of $46.229m. Parsons didn't leave anything on the table.

Read more, get your facts straight. For example:

They can't trade him without his consent, making him realistically "untradable"

If Bosh signs in time, match Parsons and fill the bench with vet mins. If Bosh does not respond in time, let them both go and spend the money wisely on Tier 2 FAs and build the bench.

Trade exception from deals in place to move Asik and Lin, dorks...You would think the "greatest gm in NBA" would be able to make it happen.

Also, sammy if you don't know how to spell, please don't post "jibberish" next time, smh.

Shastarocket, you've been nothing but an emotional, rambling idiot this entire thread, good job.

Per Feigen, Rox WILL match Parsons if Bosh signs and they can get everything done in time. This is the scenario they wanted (though I'm sure Les would have liked to have paid a little less luxury tax).
