I assume that if we get bosh, we cannot then go get Deng (whereas with Parsons, we could go over the cap to get him). Thanks and I'll hang up and listen.

S&T is currently impossible under the CBA.

It went off the table as soon as Parsons signed the offer from Cuban.

Match, or let him walk are the only options at this point.

    I know I'm 10 hours late, but...

If (and it's a BIG "if") HOU can get Bosh signed in next 72 hours, matching Parsons will have little CAP impact over next couple of years.
— David Weiner (@BimaThug) July 10, 2014

Did Bima explain how this is true? I thought there was a hard cap.

Cuban and Morey would actually be a good match...If Cuban gave him enough room operate.

I could see Morey going to work for Cuban when he's fired here.

Those pictures leave a sour taste in my mouth.

If we match hopefully Parsons doesn't give off an Eric Gordon type vibe.

Yes, the key is to sign someone else first, then sign Parsons.

    From NBA wiki..

    Soft versus hard caps
Unlike the NFL and NHL, the NBA features a so-called soft cap, meaning that there are several significant exceptions that allow teams to exceed the salary cap to sign players. This is done to allow teams to keep their own players, which, in theory, fosters fan support in each individual city. By contrast, the NFL and NHL caps are considered hard, meaning that they offer relatively few (if any) circumstances under which teams can exceed the salary cap.

    Tim McMahon:

3rd guy on their list. No question they're overpaying. That's more than his perceived value or you can look at it as $25 million for Dirk and Chandler.

Why doesn't Dallas get more big dogs?

Bridesmaid in FA with Deron, Dwight, CP3, 'Melo, LeBron. If Dirk was in his 20s, it would be different. Dirk's age the reason they can't close the deal despite making a lot of pitches.

but wouldn't we end up having to trade away pretty much everybody else sans D12/Harden/Bev to make this work?
