Wow, no way he couldn't look the other way and not sign this deal. I am pretty confident we match, but if we don't manage to snag Bosh things just got ugly for 2015 as far as bench play and cap room options the next 3 years.

If the Rockets don't match, then that decision to decline the team option sure looks like a major screw-up.

Good for Parsons. He shouldn't take one cent less than his market value. He knows that Morey is all business. Signing a cheaper contract to stay in Houston doesn't guarantee he gets to play in Houston. It just makes him a more attractive trade asset.

BTW, for a young player like Parsons, a 3 yr deal with a player option year 3 is the best contract. The NBA's salary cap will likely jump big in 2016, then the CBA expires in 2017. So you want to be a free agent in 2016 and lock yourself into a contract then, not now.

The fact that we negotiated today tells me Bosh told us if Lebron leaves he's here for sure. If we couldn't reach a deal Morey wanted there's a real chance he doesn't match this offer. Makes sense since we contacted Deng today.

Rockets will NOT match this offer unless they are getting Bosh.

Parsons is not a star player, not even an all star and Morey doesn't pay people like that 15 million. He will just sit by and wait for someone else. The only way we match is if we get Bosh and Les/Morey feel like this is a championship caliber roster.

Color me surprised. What are the odds that Morey matches?

Maybe we could convince them to do a trade.

He isn't worth that money. The decision to let him into RFA turns out to be a big mistake.

Means nothing. Rockets saw that and tried yo avoid a max; Parsons knew he had it so no deal. Does not mean Morey matches.

Just 3 years, I think Morey matches.

This was why he reached out to Deng today when they couldn't come to an agreement. This could be a sign & trade for Love, if CLE doesn't offer Wiggins (meaning Lebron returns) to MIN.

Close to 100%. Productive players can be dumped even at 15M if needed.

Cuban is only screwing himself. Parsons isn't worth that kind of money. Dallas will be seriously hamstrung.
