Seen that 'Multiplicity' movie with Michael Keaton?

A S&T for Parsons is Cuban in a XXX version of that role pulling a train on Morey.

I can see this as Dallas taking this as an opportunity to move some of their players to the Rockets and maybe even asking for some picks from Houston.

As a S&T of $15M, Dallas would need to sign matching salaries which doesn't really help with our cap space in terms of signing Bosh unless they give us more than $15M in contracts.

However, those contracts would be far more easily tradable than Parsons' new contract as you could move them THIS season vs matching and being stuck with Parsons and 1 year no trade plus future trade kickers.

I could see them offering Shawn Marion + Felton which would actually open some cap space for the Rockets to field a max offer for Bosh and gives us a back up/3rd string PG and veteran 3.

It should be interesting to see what Morey and Nelson decide to do...

We don't get to keep the exception if we go under the cap.

Too many moving parts right now to think all the scenarios through I guess.

If we took on Marion and Felton we would not open up any cap space we'd lose it.

No, I think Morey has real concerns about matching the contract. It isn't just that it is near max money, it is the trade kicker and player option. If Morey was for certain comfortable with the deal, he could have had an oral agreement with Parsons' agent and there would be no offer sheet. The fact their is an offer sheet at all tells me that Morey is waffling a little.

I cannot sit down and figure it all out right now, but it is also possible that Morey has decided that he would rather have Bosh (if it happens) and a few mid level type role players (Marion, TE) than Parsons. The starting 5 is weaker, but the defense improves and the bench is better. However, I cannot sit down and figure out if that is even possible right now as I am in a deposition.

Marion, TPE and future picks. Getting Marion in a S&T would do wonders for our bench if Bosh were to sign. We would still have our full MLE, BAE and could package the TPE with picks to trade for even more bench depth.

Marion is a free agent, he would have to want to come to houston.

What does Cuban see in Parson that make him offer him the MAX and now willing to do S&T? Doesn't make sense. I thought the whole point of this was to force us to choose Bosh or Parson, or at the very least sign Parson to a bad contract. Why would Cuban help us to develop a super team? I thought Cuban was making a genius move, now I'm not so sure.

So Chandler called Lowry to try to convince him to sign with Houston as well...

The Rockets can only get a TPE after signing Bosh. Marion is 36yo and the Mavs don't even want him themselves.

No MLE or BAE if the Rockets use their cap room on Bosh.

Cuban has struck out on all big Free Agents and from what I'm seeing on the Dallas forums talked about getting younger and getting players with upside.

He obviously thinks Parsons could turn into an All-star player with Dirk being his mentor.

Too much evidence points to him leaving. It's inevitable now.

Why the hell would the Rockets do this? We should be maintaining flexibility for Bosh, unless this is all a smokescreen to delay.
