It's doubly bad for the Rockets. Mavs get better. Scola becomes the Nets only option.

IraHeatBeat Haslem wants to stay with the Heat, wants to play with Wade, but eventually the numbers might become too significant to overlook

Would you give up 20 mil for a ring (if you're not Lebron)? I'd say no.

Man, players are getting high-end deals this year.

    Almost like Jared Jefferies contracts....

Haslem is no slouch, but cot damn. Amir Johnson? Hakim Warrick? Wesley Matthews? Diddy Dirty money for all of them.

True, but at the end of the day it's about winning a ring. Where would you rather see Haslem end up? On a team that's already stacked with a lot of good players, or a team with 3 top 10 players desperate for cheap players.

Way I see it, the Mavs don't care about money, there's really no one left better then Haslem they could get with the MLE, and they get to screw Miami (whom they really hate for obvious reasons) over in the process. Like it in the "**** the Heat" mood, as I don't think it makes that much difference to Dallas.

    I'd say absolutely.

Haslem's underrated. I wouldn't consider him overpaid if he got a contract starting at $8M as long as it wasn't 5yrs.

I want him on the Nets.

Interesting... I am thinking Scola ends up getting an offer similar to Haslem's. Maybe a bit more.

I don't think this offer is overpaying him.

The rest of the league needs to collude against the Heat.
