I like this post, and hope that it is true. I hope we use a full of MLE to get Gortat rather than going for the SF Ariza from lakers.

Does Marcin Gortat not know anything about Dallas??? Everyone from Texas knows Dallas is probably the 3rd or 4th best city behind Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Houston has the best restaurants of all the cities and the best city life (tie with Ausitn actually). Dallas sucks why would anyone ever want to play sports or live there??? It's all judgmental super up tight republicans over there, fun is not a word that is known in Dallas can someone please let Marcin know this. Way more Polish people in Houston anyways, Dallas is extremely right wing Christian...I mean come on Phil Anselmo and Pantera are from there and they are known for shouting white power and doing the stupid little nazi arm salute.

Cuban has a reputation for being very generous to players and employees.

I really wish we knew exactly how much Morey offered. I think this guy was worth the full MLE, and it sucks to see him go to Dallas.

Yeah Gortat would have been a beast for us on the boards and defensively I think we should have offered everything as well. Now we need to offer Ariza the best deal just to assure we have some kind of team next year with Artest leaving. I'm excited to see what Ariza could do without Kobe and Gasol around, maybe he becomes more of a scoring threat ala the old Artest.

im curious how the years are going to work out. if it is full mle for 5 years then that is just far too much.

He's only played one year with any meaningful minutes, and that was 12. He might turn out to be a decent player, but 30 mil is a big risk to find out. I have no problem in him going to the Mavs. Its not like we're contending this year and the Mavs are standing in our way or anything. We're rebuilding. And in that chain of thought, I'd rather get a proven athlete in Ariza instead with that money.

NO question about that. But hey Gortat, if you believe in Karma, the Mavericks will never win a title.

I don't know what Morey was thinking.

Show up, offer him an Anta shoe deal, don't offer the full MLE, sit back and watch Mark Cuban throw money and minutes at him.

All of that Morey-twitter-the-love-BS, just to watch him go play for the Ewings.

Ah, well, there are options out there.

Anyway, I'm sure it was all a diabolical plan to get Cuban to overspend on someone. Right? Right?
