Really? I certainly can, if the parts can jell in time, and they probably will. It doesn't mean a title, but it does mean a better team, in my opinion.
im getting tired of the dallas mavs..they always seem like thier stepping on our toes..i know cuban has alot of money he can through at players on the side to lure them to the team kinda like the lakers buying players but...we always get the raw end when dallas gets involved...we have a bigger market then both dallas and san antonio so i dont understand why we always get the shaft..houston is a big flashy city with lots of things to do..this team should be in the playoffs every year and should always have at least 2 superstars on the roster..reminds me of the gordat situation...morey flew to orlando with a houston jersey with gordats name on it...and when dallas got involved he then wanted to sign with them,,before orlando matched the offer..and pissed gordat off...
I live in NYC so i really don't know that much bout houston but from what i know Mark Cuban- Dallas Mavs.- Not afraid to spend money Jerry Jones- Dallas Cowboys- Not afraid to spend money DM- Houston Rockets- Looks for low risk high reward type deals Not sure who the Houston Astros gm is but I believe they are the same. I maybe wrong but don't trash me but is it something about houston that they don't want to spend to make their teams better?
The difference between Houston and Dallas at this point is that their superstars are relatively healthy. If ours were, this trade would have been superb for us and Morey wouldn't have been cautious in making the trade. That is the difference in my opinion.
In conversations with Houston for Tracy McGrady's expiring contract, the Wizards were also hoping to pry a rotation player such as Kyle Lowry, Carl Landry or Luis Scola. The Rockets, of course, were willing to sacrifice any of them. Add n't to were. Typo on Lee's part. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/2010/02/fun-is-over-wizards-had-to-mak.html
Agreed but even when they were healthy, they didn't spend to surround yao and mac with talent. Instead they continued their fetish for undersized players because it was cheaper, but it ended up breaking those guys down quicker for having to carry so much of the burden.
Wow Morey was? I find it hard to believe Carl Landry. IMO Carl Landry is a better pick up than Josh Howard. I guess that says Jamison is truly there to stay.
Did yall forget we were pretty freaking awesome last year, one game short of beating the eventual champs? Did yall forget we won 22 games in a row the year before that? Wake up! We are blessed with well run franchise! This season in an out-lier where we are setting up for next season. Who brought in Artest to round out the Tmac/Yao nucleus? Was it Morey's fault Tmac and Yao keep getting injured? For crying out loud, Morey passes on a trade that probably would have required giving up a good young player for an older, decent player...and all of a sudden he's Tim Purpura. Get a grip will ya?
The Mavs want to win THIS YEAR; we won't even if we were the ones who did the trade. Yet to see if the new additions will do something about Dallas' reputation as chokers. Boy, Wizards are on a fire sale. Such are the moves that lead fans to quit their teams.
We have the current highest paid player this year, and we're willing to just sit him out. You call us CHEAP???
That's not my point, he sent home 23million, to collect insurance and makes it look like it's because he's done as a player(not given the oppurtunity to prove that), he doesn't fit without yao(fit during the streak without yao), were developing players(as if Budinger, battier, Ariza has super-star potential) It all boggles down to being cheap to collect insurance and ruining someone's career because a player was injured. As a fan I find that disappointing.
Insurance is no longer paying out on McGrady's contract. That ended the second Tracy played his first 8 minute stint in a game. You can't just unilaterally send a healthy player home and then try to collect on insurance. No insurance company on the planet would pay any such claim.
