So what does getting Butler say about the year Shawn Marion has been having? Butler may be essentially replacing Josh Howard but is it also a sign that the Mavs aren't satisfied with what Shawn has done thus far this year?
so who should i pick up on my fantasy team? gooden or blatche? the mavs are stacked. i see their line up looking like this: haywood-dampier dirk-najera marion-thomas butler-terry-stevenson kidd-barea-beaubois
I don't understand why people are blaming morey. I want to make a trade too, but not for someone who makes us marginally better, unless he's young and butler isn't that. I'd rather figt for the playoffs or not make it and get a good pick rather than get the 7th spot n lose the first rnd. It could be more beneficial to us that we DIDNT make this trade. Stop looking so short term. It isn't worth loosing a top 10-15 pick to win n extra 10 games!!
My maritime professor used to tell us war stories and jokes, frequently using the words "hateful chit" for things, people he didn't like. I am sorry to say this, but Cuban has stuck a knife on our backs dating back since 2005. IMO, Cuban more than qualifies as hateful chit.
Ahhh Cuban is alright. He's only trying to improve his team and win games just as much as we are. Matter fact he's been trying to move Howard for a while now.
I agree. Not like Wizards were going to take the worst offer. I think the organization is doing the right thing. Letting the cards fall in place first and then go by the goal of what is bigger down the road.
Mrey and Cuban are complete opposites, Morey's loves being cheap and lowballing and Cuban love's to spend and overpay.
Posters can rationalize and explain why Cuban got Butler/Haywood and we didn't. The bottomline is that the mavs improved without giving much talent. There are still time until the 18th, but should we stay still, we should not complain about the talent difference between us and others next time we get creamed.
Is it just me, or is it starting to appear that if Cuban discovers Morey has an interest in a player, he automatically swoops in? First, Marcin Gortat. Now he swoops in on this trade. Anyhow, I'm not broken hearted about this. Those guys would have made us a little better this year - but they wouldn't have made us contenders. I'd rather have a lottery pick. p.s. All the "wrong forum" police; c'mon. It's related to the Rockets in the sense that we were apparently trying to make this trade and now we can't. Quit being such nazi's.
