I've never been a huge fan of his, but the guy could match-up against either one of their bigs pretty well. Bynum in particular.

    From Twitter:

    NBAonTNT

RT @MikeFratello: #NBA 1st big trade reported from #AS10 - Wiz give up Butler, Haywood & Stevenson for Mavs Howard, Gooden, Singleton & Ross

Damn the f'n Mavs. Morey must of saw something he didn't like from the Wiz or they were asking too much.

You would be wrong. Butler is a great defender and a solid rebounder. He doesn't need to score to be effective. He's a great key glue guy.

And you act like all are ballhogs. All three are unselfish and willing passers.

This is a GREAT deal for Dallas. Howard is overrated and doesn't help if he's not scoring.

Chicago is listening to offers for Deng. Maybe Morey will turn his attention towards them.

The Mavs still have that Dampier chip to use, as well.

Aside of Utah, every single one of those teams were either at the bottom of their conference or not even being relevant in the playoff picture.

Rockets on the other hand were borderline contenders. There is a big difference.

Some of you are getting all agitated for nothing. Put me in the crowd that Butler won't make them that much better to overtake the Lakers, and that acquiring Haywood is actually the more key transaction. And for the peeps who say "I hate Cuban because he isn't our owner", you are forgetting (or didn't know) that Les is also not afraid to make the big trades, it's just that this time Morey is calling the shots personnel wise and he is taking the precautionary patient route, which I prefer.

Honestly, I think this is an example of us not wanting to ante up and lose an asset in a deal. Especially in a three way trade where you could route McGrady somewhere else and then have another team giving up assets as well.

We are not going to do anything. Its clear they think it will be better to move during the summer.

There is a large clock that has been ticking, its been going since last years trade deadline. Its ends at next weeks trade deadline. The company line since the McGrady betrayal has made us salivate and wait for this trade deadline. That it would be "the" time and I just don't think we are going to make a move.

I'm thinking Wiz were asking for too much. Morey said he doesn't want to break up this team too much. If we send out too many players you're basically starting all over. Were would we be with Butler and no surrounding cast. Great job Morey in not being desperate.
