Hi! I'm redefined, you may remember from such classic posts as "gas prices is going up" and "poor people and why we hate them".
Haha, you guys are too much It was a simple reference to the fact that if you live and work in Dallas, traffic isn't a concern, even if it is worse than Houston's. Oh well, enjoy filling up twice a week
When the hell did I say anything about actually talking to a Mavs fan? I could give a sh*t what they would say. At least read my damn posts before quoting them. Yes, that is a section here...but this is the NBA forum, idiot. .
No, I admit you didn't...but I read your post when you quoted Casey (I did not see Casey's original post). That was my fault, I shouldn't have been lazy and gone and looked for Casey's post and quoted him instead. You pretty much took an insightful observation and said "oh, half? they don't even have 1/4..." That's great...I'm so happy you know basic math. If you have 2 apples and I have 0, then obviously I don't have 1/4 of what you have. If I wanted to be a smarta** and say "Oh, 1/4?? They don't even have 1/100th of what we have," then I should've quoted you.
What the hell kind of an attempt at a comeback was that clusterf*ck of words supposed to be? Dude, do yourself a favor and put me on your ignore list.
haha don't forget "I hate UT, but I applied anyways just to tell people that I got accepted but decided not to go"
LMAO!!! Classic Dallas folks...Granted, not everyone is like that, but the majority...And honestly, not everyone is snobbish, but the majority... I like the Dallas weather, I like Dallas chicks, hell, I like the Cowboys, but other than that, Dallas Sucks azz...Especially the Mavs...I can't wait until they choke again this year...I've been living here 3 years and everything you've heard about Dallas and its people are true...Traffic is horrible and the food sucks, except for the Houston restaurants that have come in to stablize the lack of culinary options... You have to forgive redefined, he's young, sucked up into the Dallas culture and doesn't know any better...I mean, he thinks Dallas is better than Houston, you know there's something wrong...
Okay...we have Pappadeux (my personal fav) & Pappasitos...but NO Pappas Seafood Restaraunt in DFW yet...what gives?? oh yeah...if your looking for good Crawfish up here...forget it...won't happen..even at Pappadeux (must be the Dallas cooks at the restaraunt) There are a few good TexMex places though...La Familia in Ft. Worth is great
^We need to meet up for the playoffs... I wish there was a Pappas Seafood...mmm...The only mexican rest. I like is called Cuquitas...Its a small dive (one near 75 & Knox/Henderson and the other on Spring Valley/Coit) that has good enchiladas, breakfast and taquitos...
La Familia is the shizz. You should try Caro's on the Bluebonnett Circle close to TCU. Puffed tostadas instead of chips and they claim to be the only restraunt in Fort Worth that doesn't use a microwave, steam table or can opener.
Can somebody explain to me what is the difference between the city Dallas and the city Houston (an honest, not to biased answer). I'm just curious.
there are lots of differences. there are lots of similarities. what specifically are you asking about? what aspects are you interested in?
the seafood is nowhere NEAR the quality of the seafood in Houston, even with those restaurants. i used to eat at the Pappadeaux's near the Ballpark when I was in college. my wife (then girlfriend) and i always noted how you could tell the difference in one more day before it's served. we asked a manager at the restaurant about it and he said we were exactly right...he said people who live on the coast can absolutely tell the difference in seafood served in Houston and seafood served in Dallas. he told me what i already knew, but it was interesting to hear a manager of the restaurant actually say it.
Well it is obvious that there is a rivalry between Houston and Dalls(comparible to the rivalry between Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the netherlands). What are the reasons this rivalry excists? Is it just because it are two big cities close to each other? Or is it because in one is more inhabited byt he working class then the other. etc. So basically why does this rivalry occur
it's largely proximity. and partly difference in culture. i don't know what the origins are. both have similar economies except that Houston is a port city. Houston is far more diverse. when you think of the all of the negative stereotypes of Texans...yeah, Dallas almost seeks to adopt those. like they're trying to be that. Houston is a bit more laid back. more casual. i'm not sure why that is, but i think people from both cities would attest to that.
All you need to know is that Dallas sux... IMHO, I think its the way that Dallas acts, meaning, Dallas people, in general, think they are better than everyone else...They also think they are more cultured when that's not the case...More of a superiority complex...You will find Dallas to be more white collared in nature vs. Houston being more blue collared...Houston is also more ethnic and laid back vs. Dallas being more snobbish... I live in Dallas now, but have lived in Houston most of my life...Honestly, the people are just different, granted, not all of them, but most...When I say different, its not in a good way, more along the lines of better than you...The weather is great, and you can make a nice living, but overall, Houston is much more appealing, due to the food, ethnicity and great people... And last but not least, Championships: Rox = 2, Mavs = 0
Excellent points, maestro! Everyone in little d wants to retort about their 5 SB championships but, hey the Texans have been in existence only 5 years! The Oilers, err... Titans don't count to me. Bud sucked all the joy and fun of being a football fan here with his antics. Bob rocks, Bud blows ... I greatly anticipate seeing the Rox face off against the Mavs again. It may go 7 but this time it will be a different result. Conference finals at least or bust!
