The Mavericks are not the most overrated team in the league. The Mavericks were five quarters from winning the Championship last year, were tied for the best record last year, has a great record versus the top teams this year, and no one talks about them doing well in the playoffs. In his latest article, David Aldridge has Dallas as the eighth most likely team to win the championship. How is that overrated?
Even when people complain during games "Ohh there goes Steve back to his old ways" which basically means playing the way that comes natural to him, he's STILL not effective. So when a star player who's extremely talented one on one is the most effective with the ball out of his hands, then you can easily see how the zone has destroyed his impact. And the Mavs shouldn't talk. The zone is the only reason why they're considered a top team.
Unless SF can run an open court offense, there's no way he's an All Star. JVG's system takes away everything that makes SF a great player, which is why he'll be traded in August, hopefully for a stud power forward, like Elton Brand (crosses fingers). Raven
Did anyone hear Sean Elliot say the same thing last night? Were you guys as pissed about that? He said that the only reason Steve Francis is so popular is because of his shoes.
If I have a family member who maybe isn't the smartest person in the world and I mess with him and give him a hard time for it, that's fine. He's family and he knows it is good natured. If someone I don't know shows up at my house and starts badmouthing him, I beat his ass. Period. It isn't about whether Steve is inconsistent or even overrated. Whether you agree or not, it has nothing to do with the statement, itself. It has to do with loyalty to your family or, in this case, your team. Maybe the guy was right or maybe he was full of crap. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that he spoke ill of one of OUR ROCKETS and he deserves no mercy from anyone here.
