You know, if this becomes the case, part of me (the juvenile part) will want to rub it in basketballholic's face because he is like the anti-compass: whichever direction he points, we'll just go another way. But it mostly just makes me tired.

"We'll trade for Howard, no other team will be able to match, he's ours."

    "We

    will

    not

    trade

    Parsons."

    And so on.

There's always the 3-year $46,000,000 curveball. That's why you can never be certain of anything in trades and free agency.

Yep. We ****ed up bad. If Chandler was in his thirties- maybe hed want to go for a ring. But hes young and understandably wants $$$. And if he wasnt our player, Id laugh for Cuban giving him a bloated contract.

    A Few takeaways:
    1) Players (or people in general) will almost always act in their best interest ($$$) vs. That of a group (e.g. building a dynasty). Few players (as demonstrated by this and the Melo signing) have any interest in winning IFF it comes at the expense of money.
    2) Roster building is a zero sum game. Cuban is cutting his nose to spite his face here- just so he doesnt have a superpowered Rockets team in his division.
    3) **** Fegan. Its an agents league-and Fegans pushing Dwight and Parsons to Dallas.
    4) its complete BS dallas can undo a recovation of bird rights if we match. Trying to sign an RFA has almost no risk and this needs to be fixed in the CBA if the league cares about players staying with their teams (hint: they don't)

If Morey is delaying the offer sheet... How is Dallas that dumb not to sense that?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Morey was acting like he wants to do a S&T just so he can buy us some more time to make our other moves. Cuban overpaid Parsons to spite us, so maybe Morey is just returning the favor by teasing him with a S&T.

I'm not exactly sure how it all works, but it seems like we have a TON to get done once the 72 hour period starts. We still need to finalize the Asik trade, dump Lin, (hopefully) sign a FA, THEN match Parsons. Every second we can buy is valuable.

Can someone give a quick recap of what happened between the Rockets and the Knicks in regards to Lin's offer sheet?
