I saw this in my WSJ today, and wanted to share: [rquoter]The Mavericks, with 250 slaps, hugs, taps or bumps, are almost twice as touchy-feely as the Heat, who had only 134 instances of televised contact.[/rquoter] http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304392704576373641168929846.html
This would be a reverse from 2006. I predicted the Heat would win then because they had better chemistry that would overcome the Mavs talent.
Look at Brian Cardinal's total, then look at his 48 min projection. He doesn't touch a lot, but he does it at a high rate.
The NBA in general is too touchy-feely these days. What's with the high-fiving after every free throw? It's to the point now that they do it even after a miss.
It's not at all surprising that Mike Bibby is last on the list for the Heat. <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ab9aoQkMVls" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Some of this has got to be Dirk spending so much time at the free throw line. Every free throw he gets 3 or 4 high fives.
Yeah, "in restaurants he has been known to head immediately for the men's room to scrub up after shaking hands with well-wishers or after using a stranger's pen to sign an autograph." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1024136/index.htm
I never understood the whole "slapa da butt" thing in sports as a way to congratulate someone. I figure there must be some homo tendencies for people who do this.
They really went homo with the touches on him, especially on the neck. Would've freaked out personally.
I figure there must be some tendencies for people who read way too much into what other people are doing.
