1. For a skilled leader, that's not a lot of salary, and much less than execs can get at market value from a for-profit enterprise. Helping the starving kids is nice, but do you demand so much charity from these individuals that they can be paid no salary at all or else they're a hypocrit? 2. People making more than they're worth at a non-profit is pretty laughable. I'm sure it's happening somewhere, but it's maybe 0.0001% of the population of non-profit workers. 3. More to the point of national teams, the players are pitching in for free, Colangelo is running Team USA for free. They aren't stealing money out of Mark Cuban's pocket.
