An acrimonious history, demands for more medical checkups, drafting Dorsey....it's sounding more and more like we may have the full MLE to offer Pietrus. If a deal isn't made pretty quick and Joey plays like a badass in Las Vegas Morey might decide Pietrus/Dorsey> Landry/Evans

(in the rotation, I realize Dorsey is ours either way)

Agreed. I wouldn't mind trying to give Francis' spot to Cassell either.

    Additions:
Mo Evans, Brent Barry, Sam I am, Dorsey, Daunte Greene

We would have gotten, younger, bigger and more leadership all at the same time...

When he played for the lakers he was a little hard up for time playing behind Kobe. Whenever he got in he'd suffer from Kirk Snyder-syndrome, where he'd hog the ball just a bit as if to say "Look guys! I can score the ball too!" He could, though.

He'd be a nice pickup. Always played nice, tough defense. Really improved his shot.

maurice evans would be a great pick up. he isn't sensational in one aspect of the game but he's a pretty good allrounder. solid slasher and shooter. decent athleticism. great size.

if we could get him and resign landry our offseason would be pretty much over and i still would be very happy about it.

Easy...trade him. There is a chance that he can be moved this summer but its more likely he'll be dealt in Feb.

Also subtract Chuck Hayes, whoever it may take to get Artest(Battier, Rafer, Brooks etc)

The Rockets picked up the team option on Novak so he is staying.
(not that we should throw a party with Maaaarty)

Here is a side by side comparison for 2008 of Maurice Evans with our current backup SG head.

Mo is a better finisher than Luther. Mo can spot up in both corners for the 3 and hits them for 39.3% and 43.2%. Luther can only spot up in the right elbow for the 3pt and the left elbow is only 30.7%.

Mo is much better in the playoffs than Head. Head didn't get much minutes this postseason, but his shotchart for the prior postseason was bad also. If he shot as well as Mo, he might have more minutes in the game. Head's percentages are awful in the post season, even if you look at prior seasons. Mo's efficiency actually went UP in the playoffs!

I love Evans. Heck, I'd probably take him over Barry. Get it done, Morey.

again, it isn't an either or, it's a both scenario. barry at either the LLE or vet minimum, evans with half the MLE, and landry with the other half.

    pg: alston/jackson/barry or alston/brooks/barry
    sg: t-mac/barry/evans
    sf: battier/evans
    pf: scola/landry/dorsey
    c: yao/deke/dorsey

    Thanks for the hotshots BTE

I didn't know that Luther only had 1 side of the court that he could shoot 3s from!
And since he didn't take any shots from that side in the playoffs - well, no wonder he sucked :p

You're assuming we'll even have a choice. These guys have other options, you know. I'm just saying that if I had to choose one, I'd probably go with Mo.

Right now it is an either or. Until Landry signs, that MLE can't be divided for anyone.

Once Landry signs, then maybe we'll have half of the MLE to work with, though most of the prime targets may have long since signed.

He's one of my low risk good guy types. He's like Mario Elie to me which is well worth it. The Rox have a 2.5m te. They probably can use this and save they mle. 4 yrs 10m sounds good for depth.

The rockets are going to be high on a lot of players lists with yao/tracy on the roster. I'm saying it's definitely financially possible to get both guys, that's all, not that is how it plays out.
