Surprised my wife with a trip to Maui during spring break. I chose spring break because my wife is a teacher and we also need time to get in shape lol. Any good info out there about Maui? We are staying at the Westin.
Great choice, I used to live there for about 4 years. Is this more a relaxing trip or are you into nature/outdoor activities at all? Also whats your age range? Are kids coming? Sorry for the questions, but there is a huge diversity of things to do there so I need to narrow it down some
To make a long story short... -Young and for the adventure. -To grow up and earn a real living By far the best years of my life though
I always planned on proposing to my girlfriend in Maui. I was hoping to find a spot that is hiking on top of a mountain or cliff and really high up with a cool view. Something like what this guy did in the video below but less dangerous since the stairs have been closed for decades and a storm damaged them badly this year. https://vimeo.com/105742353 Any suggestions on spots? Thanks.
I'm in my late 30's and my wife is in her early 30's. We are going for a little R&R, but definitely want to visit Haleakala national park. We want to experience the sunrise there. Oh and the kids are staying with my parents
There was another thread before about Maui. I made a post about my favorite cove I swam in, sea turtles returned to the cove in the evening. Amazing experience.
I thought Nanisteru's posts in this thread about Maui were quite helpful. We stayed at the Andaz, not too far from the Westin. Had a good time.
Ahh yes the Haiku stairs. Those are famous but currently dangerous and technically the trail is "closded" with a security guard there. HOWEVER On Maui, if you want to so something amazing and during one of the most breathtaking, gorgeous events on the earth, do it Haleakala volcano sunrise. http://www.gohawaii.com/en/maui/guidebook/topics/haleakala-sunrise/ http://www.govisithawaii.com/2007/07/17/see-an-unforgettable-sunrise-at-the-peak-of-a-volcano/ http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...ater-Haleakala_National_Park_Maui_Hawaii.html Videos: Click Here DO IT. It is by far one of the most beautiful, most amazing moments of my life.
We went there for our honeymoon and it was amazing! Do yourself a favor and get this book. It has absolutely everything you need to know, even hidden off the trail spots that the locals visit. The only knock is that the food/restaurant section could use some updating, but that is what tripadvisor is for.
