If you are a hard-core NBA fan, I'm shocked you haven't heard of him. Maybe it's because you don't see the Jazz much, which is understandable. Matthews played well every time I watched them last season.
I don't know crap about the j*zz. I know they have ...umm Williams, AK47, and Millsap. Anyways a true Rockets fan should never watch any j*zz games.
I'm surprised so few people know him. The Jazz trade of Brewer at the deadline, specifically to make way for this guy, was pretty eye-popping because of talks of them wishing to dump salary and stuff. Anyway, I don't see Utah matching. They simply have to little financial flexibility until AK47's contract comes off the books.

Um, yeah right. Fixed it for you. Some of us here are NBA junkies, have League Pass and watch a boatload of games each and every week. The Jazz are at the bottom of my list but sometimes they play teams I like to watch.

Ronnie Brewer couldn't shoot a 3 to save his life. Yet he has been more productive for them than Shane Battier has been productive for us. Any shooting guard who can play defense well can easily thrive with Deron Williams. After all, all he needs to do is slash and defend and D=Will can spoonfeed him baskets all day. I've never heard of the guy either. But, it's been my observation over many years that you shouldn't sign role-players from Utah. Sloan's system seems to get performance out of guys that no other team can get.
Matthews isn't a bad player. Pretty sure he isn't worth 7 million a year though. And really? Come on, Portland. They need to rethink their Pritchard firing. KP would never do this.
When I saw the headline I was like "which Matthews?". Then I opened the thread and I was like, "Oh, *that* Matthews. Wait, WHAT?" His agent must be amazing.
