Too funny...dude, THREE people said that exact same thing to me yesterday as I was thinking it.

I know its just a few games, but a package of Mario/Shaub could do wonders for us in the draft or in a trade.

tj yates has looked solid. Better than leinart for sure.

But better than schaub? I dont think so. Maybe eventually, but there are many qbs who show flashes of brilliance when they first start then come down to earth.

Only 13 points on the board before that last second drive.

With all these injuries, we need 2 qbs anyways. Im not worried

    I understand this concern
    but . . I will say this
HOW MANY GAMES DID IT TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO ACCEPT BRADY OVER BLEDSOE?

I think people forget how truly respected Bledsoe was
to alot of people he was the PROTOTYPE POCKET PASSER

Correct, and that's the way it SHOULD be. Bledsoe (and Schaub) have EARNED the right to be respected in this league. TJ Yates is just starting out. He's played in 2.5 games for God's sake! Let the kid finish out the season, and guide us in the playoffs before we go anointing him the next Brady. What's worse?? Making a rash decision with your incumbent quarterback who has does nothing but put up STELLAR numbers in his time here, or being patient, and understanding that you might have a good talent in Yates that STILL NEEDS DEVELOPING?? I don't understand where the rush in judgement comes from.

Not attacking you, RR. I'm just frustrated with some of these idiotic posts (again, your post wasn't idiotic).

maybe schaub doesn't have that heroic 4th quarter drive, but the team wouldn't have been down in the first place. Schaub's in, and there's less defenders playing run, which makes Tate and Foster more effective.

he has. Unfortunately they were either games in season where playoffs werent reached or the defense gave up a TD on the opponents following drive

Only because teams weren't respecting the pass with Yates. They will soon... Texans were moving the ball. Tate's fumble hurt the most.

I will say this. If Yates does win us the Super Bowl, I will accept him over Matt Schaub. Yates can even win it Tebow style where you just go WTF the whole time and I will still accept him over Schaub.

After 2 starts? Not so much.

    I understand the skepticism
but . . . I just know alot of fans just see IT in Yates
Which is fine . .. most folx with IT .. takes times for some to recognize IT
sometimes folx see IT where IT isn't

    Time will truly tell.

I am sure all of Brady's first games. . . folx
were saying .. he is good but .. imagine if Bledsoe was there!

    this time next year
Either the IT SEERS or those that don't see it will be eating crow
i am enjoying the now .. . . and the promise of the future
I don't see yates as brady
but the kid has something. . .and that something is good

One thing is for certain: Schuab would have fallen down after that 3rd and 15 play broke down; Yates converted that with his feet.

Schaub would NOT have been able to rush for 17 yards on that 3rd and 15, it would have been the second consecutive sack and the game would have been over right there.

So you assume that Schaub would not have made a better read on 2nd and 10 therefore resulting in 1st and 10 instead of 3rd and 15?? I'm with the people who think we would have been handing it off the last drive ahead 27-19. In other words, Schaub would not have been in that position.

Perhaps, but neither would Yates if Tate hadn't fumbled at the 3 yard line and if Rackers hadn't missed a tougher, but makeable kick. And then especially if you eliminate the Bengals touchdown that came after the Tate fumble. IF you accepted all that, it's a 17 point swing (10 points the Texans could have had, 7 they might not have given up).

I didn't recall how quickly Tom came on his "rookie" year (wasn't his rookie year, but when Bledsoe got injured, I believe Tom's second year), and he wasn't that impressive statistically. Even by the end of the year (Bledsoe got injured game 2 I think), even in the Superbowl run, Tom wasn't putting up HOF type post-season numbers. Wasn't throwing a ton of picks or anything, but nothing amazing.
