we drafted spencer and winston and the texans went and signed salaam, black, and flanagan. great o-line play doesn't gel together overnight.
WHAT!? You mean they are going to just hand him the starting job just because he makes more money than sage?? Like they did with Carr??
Aside from Eric Winston, those guys are just bodies, nothing that will prevent the QB from getting pummelled on a regular basis.
actually, according to one article that's exactly what's gonna happen. they say that schaub signed the kind of deal that makes it impossible to ignore when deciding who your starter is: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...ubYF?slug=jc-schaub032107&prov=yhoo&type=lgns In exchange for Schaub, the Falcons received Houston’s second-round pick this year (the No. 39 overall) and in 2008. The Falcons also moved up from the No. 10 overall pick to No. 8 overall in the switch of first-rounders. Branion declined to give specifics on the contract other than to say, "it's a real deal." By that, Branion implied that the contract indicates that Schaub will be the starter.
Obviously you haven't seen him play. Schaub has above average mobility, and throws well on the run; something Kubiak really likes in a QB.
yeah, i hear ya. you can't judge from one game. though that actually was a regular season game (as opposed to Cato) against one of the NFL's very best (the Pats).
exactly. kubiak isn't going to bring in a QB who doesn't have mobility...not for his system. and not with someone he expects to be here a while.
I don't think anyone will know who will start, it will all depend who performed better during camp and also throughout the preseason, then the Texans will know who will start. I'm thinking it will be Sage and Schaub will be worked in during the season if Sage struggles.
seriously part of the reason everyone knows schaub is because he backs up the most polarizing qb in the nfl. lets not act like he's some super sub. he maybe really good, but there is a reason he maybe the most famous backup in the league.
Schaub should be the automatic starter since they traded draft picks for him and traded draft spots. Is it me or do you think they gave up too much?
