I saw Maloney at Jaycee Park off if Ella and TC Jester ! he Vernan Maxell were playing the warehouse workers (i.e. the regulars) in 2-on-2 games ... and they were gettin' schooled !
Man, this is the only place people actually recongize him. I've met him at the Bronx bar in the village and he's really just a regular guy. Didn't seem stuck up at all. And about him not being a fan favorite. Once your a has been, the only fans that count are the ladies...
He was also good with the entry pass to Hakeem. IIRC he left when it became apparent that the ROX needed more than that from their 1.
He would NOT fit this team (or any one). He fit teams that were involved during the 3-point-line-moved-in period. After that, his value got smacked. He's not a great-great shooter from the regular line...just pretty good. The rest of his liabilities make him worthless to an NBA team.
