The interesting thing is guys like Hoffman over at 1560 are always saying how 790 is about to dump sports/change formats/clean house/whatever. I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about. That Lesbian Craig dude is a joke, starting with his name.
I'm guessing Matt wasn't let go, he probably left for the better opportunity. Surely 610 wouldn't intentionally let someone go as talented as him.
If Wexler has moved to 790, I guess that means he's not doing the commentary for Rockets games any more? I don't know what 610 is thinking, trading in Jackson and Wexler for John Lopez.
Oh god... say it ain't so... let's just hope league pass doesn't let me down... I do not want to listen to Lopez with Craig. I like Wex. Yall will have to let us know when they start on 790 so I can listen to them.
790 can now count me in as a listener in the mornings. Matt and Wex were radio gold working together. I can't wait to hear them together again. Reunited and it feels so good!

Agreed. They are in big trouble now. They have lost three of their most talented guys in Clanton, Wexler, and Jackson now in the last month or so. Their line-up now consists of the boring (Vandermeer), the uninformed (Lord), and the old and grumpy washouts from a decade ago (Warner). They time on top of the ratings heap is just about over.
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I'll be a loyal 790 fan now! I really, REALLY can't believe that 610 let those two go and has John Lopez on their air. I mean really, one of the best pairs with regards to on air chemistry is now gone and they've replaced them with the unanimous pick for worst personality in Houston? WOW!

I've been looking for a reason to quit on Sports Radio 610 since they brought on John Lopez. Props to MattJ and Wex for helping me out in that regard. 790 is now sports geek radio - I like it! I'm actually a fan of lez craig- he's not very polished, but you can tell the dude likes sports. Nice contrast to a lot of sports talk guys sound like they just like to piss on sports (remember brad davies?).
Does sportsradio610 want to bore their audience to death? They won't have much of an audience left. They better give laura reynolds an 6 hour show if they want me to listen. My, how the mighty have fallen in just 2 years.
Everytime I listen to 1560 there are making fun of the other stations which is funny because their always 2nd or 3rd in the ratings I saw. Their signal still sucks and I can't believe it has gotten better since it's been a few years now since they started.
they were leading for over a year and are self owned/invested/run. i think they have a right to make fun of the CBS/Clear Channel
This is fantastic news. I am so happy for MattJ. I know he reads this board, and I want to say Congrats for the move. MattJ is the voice for us Houston sports fans. I for example relate to him, because he is one of us. He grew up here and experienced all of the same things most of us did growing up. As for the switch, 790 just hit the lottery. Their lineup is just going to be fantastic. Rich Lord and John Lopez are the absolute worst. I dont even know if Rich like sports. He does everything possible to talk about anything but sports. His complete lack of elementary knowledge is repulsing. I have no clue how he is still employed. John Lopez is close second. Completely uninformed and a blowhard. I really think, with the addition of a Wexler/Jackson show in the morning, the Midday show will get better. While I am not a huge fan of DeLuca, I have to admit, the guy brings a lot of energy and is pretty consistent. I think pairing with Craig Shelton will be good. Lesbian Craig is pretty damn entertaining and I love the fact that he is just a flat out homer. Charlie is the best period. There is not even a debate there. When will MattJ and Wex make their debuts? Anyone know? Also, will 790 have a local night show? If Wex has to give up his Rockets duties, 790 should just have a post game show after Rocket games. Obviously, they cant call it " Rocket Fan Feedback" but they could certainly air Wex and MattJ after Rocket games. I know I would tune in. I love Rocket Fan Feedback. Just my thoughts.
