Delly's BIQ is way better than Bev. That's what you usually get from a international player. Pop might love him too.
To be fair, I don't think Delly was the primary defender when Curry started getting hot. Delly is having a magnificent string of games, but let's not get carried away. Irving is still better than Delly. I will say that Irving might not be so keen on diving on 50/50 balls like Delly is, though.
In no way am I saying Delly is better than Kyrie. What I am saying is he will not want to stay in Cleveland and come off the bench when he could go some place else for equal or more dollars and start. Maybe he forces Cleveland's hand and pushes for a sign and trade. He is a RFA after the season is over.
You can clamor for a team full of individual defenders, but if they aren't smart enough to coordinate a defensive game plan like the Cavs are doing, or at least have the coach set a team objective, you're just going to have five great individual defenders that will get beat on simple screens and misdirection plays.
I think his hustle and energy is on a higher level than Bev. Bev lost a bit of that fire and intensity this year. Also I don't recall bev ever making a impact like Delly just did on a game at this level. Small sample size but props to delly
"I've had a better collegiate career than anyone else from Australia that came over here," Bogut said. "I'm not as slow as Luc Longley, I'm more athletic, I can shoot better, I'm more competitive. So I think it's not even fair to bring that name up."
No way he leaves Cleveland.... He may want to start somewhere, but it wont be long before he returns to the bench wherever that somewhere is.... Better stay his azz in Cleveland
Is that you Chuck? To be fair, he's helped a lot by the fact the Cavs have far betters players than they did last season.
I remember Boobie Gibson went insane for a playoff run in 07 and his career didn't last long. Delly can be a good player in this league BUT.. I'd like to see more than a hot stretch in the playoffs before giving him a long term contract IMO. That'd be a gamble.
Delly and guys like him will always be a fan favorite because he's a gritty, hustle guy who knows his role and is a solid defender. Which is just what the Cavs need, since they have a lot of offense on that team with Kyrie, Lebron, and Love. While I'd love to have someone like him here, I'm sure he'd cost a pretty penny (especially since GM Lebron really likes him). Plus, I don't know if he's the guard we'd need right now. We need a secondary playmaker- someone Harden can dump to when he gets doubled and occasionally defer to. Delly is not that.
he's been hospitalized for severe cramping??? Damn... http://www.nba.com/2015/news/06/10/matthew-dellavedova-severe-cramping-game-3-cleveland-clinic/index.html
