I blame bad ref calls for the spreading of the flopping art more then I blame international players. Dudes that don't flop don't get the foul call most of the time if they are a certain build, making it necessary to flop to show "That dude hit me."


It all leads back to crappy calls.

 

Exactly. More professional players need this mentality. It's like they have no self respect anymore (Ginobili, AK47, Bayless, Maggette, Scola... many others.)

You can make a distinction for Battier and say that he just does it to embellish the contact and draw the foul. Fair enough - but I don't like that either.

Yeah, that call was horrible though.... Bayless falling on the ground like a little b**** and getting the call for it. Wtf did Lowry even do to him to make him fall like that? Somebody explain to me, cuz I don't see it...

There should be a department at the league office that reviews every foul to keep track of flops. (Good for evaluating the refs too.) If you fine floppers, there would be a drastic cut in flops EVEN IF THE REFS DON'T CHANGE THE WAY THEY CALL THEM.

 

hopefully clutchfans didn't cause any trouble for bullard, it seems to be getting around now..

 

I actually thought that was bullard, becuase you didn't hear him on the broadcast, I thought he turned his mike off and yelled at the refs

If this doesnt get anything changed, I dont know what will. This has to be the most obvious example of not just a flop, but an example of "Hey you stupid ref, watch me fall down and then watch your DUMB ASS call it." As a fan of a team that has fallen victim to the Utah Spazz this never gets old. And I just LOVE the expression on Memo's face.

the crazy part about that is okur still helped Davis up, so it just shows how sometimes it's not even about the players going against each other, but them as a whole playing a game called "let's see who can fool the ref in today's game"...it's just turning into a joke between some players..

 

Bull is a Rockets announcer. Not a blazers, not a lakers or mavs announcer. If he wants to be biased towards the Rockets thats his right. And if you don't want to hear Matt being biased turn your volume off.

 

The calls were definitely bad and the flops are always plentiful when the Rockets play the Blazers, Jazz, or Warriors, but come on Bull get a grip.
It got really boring listening to it over and over, and yelling out at the refs was pretty unprofessional for a broadcaster.

I like Bull and his analysis of the plays, especially the "Bulls Eye" stuff but the corny jokes and rants get old.

Just like players need to take what the defense gives you, they gotta take what the refs give you. Its different from game to game and always will be.
