if we offered him a longterm security and a legit chance at another championship I'm sure he'd consider it strongly. spurs are past their best even with a prime jefferson and parker and tim duncan playing a sensational season.

I cant see us doing a single trade with the spurs ever again after that scola trade

The heat has a lot of expiring contracts this season. They will trade some of them for good players before this deadline. It's impossible for them to leave all the space to sign free agents this summer. That would be stupid.

I believe Battier is a player that the heat would like to have.

The heat will not take on any salary. They can sign another max player. If The cavs don't win you don't think lebron might join wade in miami? or Bosh?

Wow that's it, everyone made such a big deal about how we have the best trading chip come deadline, I thought we'd get Wade or bosh back :(

You only set yourself up for disappointment(if you were being serious). What RV6 said, Wade was never available and there was no chance of getting him.

Obviously, Morey thought he'd get a steal like Pau Gasol during the deadline(a impact player on a losing team) for a expiringdue to the economy, but those teams have chances at making the playoffs so those guys aren't available.

You need to pull your head out of T-Mac's jock poste-haste. There was never any chance at scoring Wade or Bosh with a 23 million dollar expiring contract.

DM has been trying to deal Tracy since draft day, without success. Expiring contracts are important, but they have their limitations and are hard to move. No one wanted LaFrentz's. The chances of a major change in our favor has always been low. The expectations here have been unnecessarily high by some,no offense intended.

yeah, but Wade isn't one of those guys..it's like saying lebron or kobe would be an option if their teams had losing records...those guys do not get traded, especially in their prime. Plus, miami is in a weaker conference with decent talent, they just needed to get healthy and get some practice and experience in. there was a good chance they wouldnt completely suck this season.

How do expect us to have a legit chance at a championship with a center who can't be relied upon to play an entire season without injury?

If he is not traded for 3.5 million less in contracts, I'd expect the Cook + 1st round pick trade to the Clippers or Grizzlies to go into effect.

So prepare for bad news Part II.

LaFrentz could not contribute all that much towards the end of his contract and he was not an all-star caliber player, the same can't be said about T-Mac. Also, the NBA has never seen a free agent crop like that of Summer 2010.

Morey is infamous in the league now. No GM wants to be the latest victim who got raped arm and leg of his talent by Morey. As much as it is Morey's talent, its also his weakness. Look at our attempted acquisition of Gortat last season. Dallas sniffed the scent and tried to ****-block the deal, and the Magic obviously took another look at who they had and ended up keeping him. And we're not even talking about the external factors affecting this trade.

I say we have a 25% chance of trading McGrady before the deadline.

Tracy is obviously in an entirely different league than LaFrentz even with all his injuries, but the demand for his skills is low.

Otherwise, he would have been traded by now. The sheer fact that he hasn't been moved despite the FA class of 2010 shows how hard it is to move his expiring contract.

Not true. When last summer's "offers" turned out to be crap, he held off on any substantive talks until recently. DM knows nothing of significance would be offered until late in the game.

I think it has more to do we have moves and if he is moves wil be our very last move. There is factors to this.

    1) If he is our first move. Then this messes with the Rockets attmpts to make more moves as the rest of the league will start making there moves to counter the McGrady move to adjust their own financial issues do to the FA market.

    2) We have moves evidently, and correctly applying this wait it out game is working in the Rox favor.

    3) Moving him first shuts the doors on any other possible move later.
