Bull survived but the criticism on him were pretty much right on, he was just too general on alot of the stuff. So what really makes Baron Davis a great teammate?....

Having seen this episode, America got it right. Darryl Dawkins was pathetic and Scott will be next to go if he doesn't improve.

JR Reid was decent, but although both flubbed in certain areas, I think that one of Bullard or Dee Brown will win this contest. Both of them have a lot of potential from what I saw tonight. Matt just needs to be more assertive in the 5th quarter type stuff(and don't get as personal as he did) and Dee needs to work on slowing down his words, although I thought his knowledge and excitement in his highlights were solid. I thought Scott was bad, and JR Reid was ok, but Reid looks uncomfortable in front of a camera.

Bull and Dee Brown were the best.

I can't believe Dee Brown received any "cut" votes at all. I would much rather be good but talk too fast than to be bad, unclear and stumble over words like some of the rest of these guys.

Bullard was good but it makes me wonder. ESPN already has Legler as their token white analyst that never was an All-Star calibur player. So does adding Bullard really give them the opportunity to get a different perspective? Bullard has two championships of course, but still.

    Any thoughts?

And ESPN has Greg Anthony/Mark Jackson to fill Dee Brown's role. Personally, I think ESPN needs a guy with the personality that Bullard possesses. They already have animated personalities in Legler, Smith, and Anthony. Bullard is a nice calm contrast to the 3 of them as far as chemistry on set goes. In my honest opinion(as a journalism grad from UT-Austin), Bullard should win the contest if he just brings his A game. He is calm, smooth, easy to understand, and brought very good stats in his analysis. If he leaves out the personal references, and asserts himself in the 5th quarter type stuff more, he wins this contest and is the most complete package(TV journalist wise) of anyone in the contest. If he doesn't though, Dee Brown will win it.

Unless Scott drastically improves and Reid gets 10X more comfortable in front of the camera these are your two frontrunners to win the contest imho.

    They beat me to it.

On your analysis, on the whole, I really don't think much of most of the ESPN analysts anyways, even the non ex-players. I like Greg Anthony but the rest are...meh. They remind me of Pearl Harbor, Coyote Ugly type of films...loud and no substance.

Dawkins did, as he should have. His double dribble performance was horrible. 2 of the 4 judges voted for Dennis Scott, and one for Dawkins. America voted for Dawkins and since America's vote breaks the tie, Dawkins was cut. I personally thought the judges were way too nice on him anyway.

Why did Stephen A get on Bulls case for Cassell's and Sprewell's contracts when the subject was about McHale? I guess he could have said someting in the 2 seconds before the next recap. Seems kind of nit-picky.

I thought Matt did well throwing in the stats. He's definately getting better.

It's hard to believe Bull's future in broadcasting could lay in the hands of Kit Hoover.

You left out Stephen A Smith and Woody Paige. Woody Paige is horrible on Around the Horn and Stephen A Smith might be the most annoying sports analyst ever. The only judge's comments I take seriously on that show are Al Jaffe's because he knows what he is talking about.

Yeah, but didn't Jaffe hire guys like Stuart Scott, SA Smith and Paige? Now that's scary.

It is very scary, but at least I feel he has some credibility when he critiques.

Air Bull did not do well Sunday ... I thought for sure he was gone but when the votes came up, he didn't even get 1 vote ...

He will have to pick up the pace

JR Reid is doing better and better
