you asked for a note, he sent a note. I seriously doubt he has a drawer full of glossy action shots ready to be signed at his house. While I understand being disappointed in not getting a signed photo, it seems like he went beyond that by taking the time to write a nice note. A signature takes two seconds and doesn't require thinking...so in a way this is better. Also, you should have sent him a photo to autograph with a self-addressed envelop for him to return it in. Congrats on the new baby.
