Spurs broadcast better? Sean Elliott is way worse. At one point he said Scola needs to wash his hair. Basically none of these former players should make money speaking for a living. Very few actually give you any insight related to their area of expertise.
The infuriating this is he always says it when the opponent draws a charge -- even if its legit -- while seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that we led the league in drawn charges last year by a wide margin. He just makes our announcing team sound like hypocrites. I'd be embarrassed if other teams' fans listen to them.
I'm pretty sure he IS oblivious. And what is it with him saying "That's not a basketball play!" What the heck does that even mean?
I hate it. Quit drawing on the screen while I'm trying to watch the game. Another thing, he needs to stop joking around so much. I understand that's part of announcing, but we are 0-5. This is not the time. Calvin understood this and wouldn't overdo the jokiness.
Errr? I muted their broadcast for that very reason - complaining about calls. They aren't as boisterous about it as Matt, but there are constant subtle sprinkles about how Ginobili/Duncan/Parker fell, therefore a call should have been made. They laughed sarcastically about the "quality" referees all night - despite calls being fairly evenly distributed. When Scola pulled the chair out from Duncan and he fell late in the 4th, they tried to say "he pulled him down!" Etc. They live in Spurs reality. Matt does need to stop being so repetitive in order to avoid being like that.
