Ok, yes, I understand that Niobe's ship wasn't destroyed in the battle. However, I didn't think that it was her ship that picked them up. When the Hammer's crew was was explaining what happened at the end of the movie, I was under the impression that they were in Zion during the battle. Was I mistaken?
I think they were explaining that they got there after the battle, and the only survivor they found was the traitor, and that someone sabatoged the other ships, and that the traitor was going to have a lot of splainin to do when he wakes up.
That was the impression I got as well. I just assumed that that particular ship survived the battle. They did say that after the sentinels were "done with them" they went right back to digging. So maybe the sentinels finished off most of the ships, and as soon as they decided there was no more threat, they started digging and ignored the ship that picked up Neo and company. Edit: also, keep in mind that this battle did NOT take place in Zion. This was a counterattack that took place away from Zion, before the machines have dug their way down to Zion.
I know Hamann was the council member, I figured they named a ship after him. Hamann, Hammer - name doesn't matter. It just looked like a bigger ship, so I figured that they would name it after something prestigious. The impression I got from the battle was that the robots were sending out groups of sentinels to cut off some of the main passages leading towards Zion, to either prevent some ships from getting back(I don't think they knew that all the ships but three had been recalled) - or prevent some ships from getting out, perhaps to found a new colony. Anyways, Locke decided to catch the robots by surprise, have a couple dozen ships waiting - and have them leap out and emp the Sentinels, paring down the odds, and perhaps distracting them from digging. But Agent Smith activated his ships emp early, taking down part of the attack force, and alerting the robots to their presence - the robots then tore apart the makeshift fleet, and after wiping out most, and scattering the rest - that's what I think happened to the Hamman/er - after things went to hell, they just skedaddled - the robot mind dispatched most of the sentinels back to protect the big drills, perhaps leaving a few to pick off survivors. The Hamman/er jumped back in, perhaps emp'ed the few ships still there, and found the lone survivor, Agent Smith, who doubtless left his ship and ran away after ruining the attack.
Puedlfor - I don't think Agent Smith used the ships EMP, I think he used his own EMP, just like Neo did. That's why he's in the coma like Neo. Does that sound crazy?
Over at imdb.com, on the matrix reloaded page, they have cast listings for actors who play a young Thomas Anderson, at ages 2, 4, 8, and 12. Does anybody else know what this refers to? I don't remember seeing young versions of him in the movie. (maybe those scenes were cut out? Maybe they're in the background?)
They were most likely for the scene in the Architect's room. Remember the tv screens showing Neo throughout his life?
BGM: Nope on the Archtect thing-I watched that scene closely. All the monitors were showing Neo from Matrix 1. My guess on the younger Neo's is that it will have something to do with revolutions. Just my guess.
Dude, what the hell ever! You need to watch the movie sober, you'll clearly see a boy blowing out candles on a birthday cake, who do you think that was?
BGM: Wasn't drinking at either viewing. Where did you see that? I was trying to pay as much attention to the monitor's during the second viewing. If I missed a kid blowing out candles, my bad. Either way, I still assume if they wanted that many younger Neo's, it would be for a bigger purpose that the Architect scene.
In that scene, the Architect mentions keeping a close eye on Neo. That's when the screens cut to show scenes from the first Matrix, but there are also other scenes of a kid with black hair doing kid stuff. I remember 2 screens, one showing a kid at a birthday party blowing out candles, and then I remember another scene of a kid chasing a dog in his backyard. The scenes were very "Wonder Years"-ish. I thought it was clear that the kid was Neo since all of the old footage involved a kid with black hair. Although it is possible that I'm confusing this footage from when the Architect showed footage of all of the people still living in the Matrix. That scene happened when Neo had to choose between Trinity or the human race... I'm still fairly certain that that scene was where the young Neo's were seen...
I saw the kid blowing out the candles as well. I'm also sure I saw at least one other monitor showing a young Neo doing something as a kid.

Found this while looking at a hip hop forum thought it was pretty funny. http://forums.b-boys.com/vbforum/showthread.php?threadid=163970
Rave scene was a little long, but it did let them interweave the sex scene nicely, so I'm ok with it. But if that sex scene doesn't yield a baby then you have to wonder why it was in there at all.
I thought the rave scene / sex scene was friggin lame. I kept wishing the sentinels would break through.
