I think the Oracle wants a future where machines and humans can coexist together. The AI seem to have evolved human-like emotions that aren't necessarily always based on survival of the AI society. Still the Architect believes the answer to all choices is logical.
The Oracle sees the evolution of thought in the AI and the depravity it's creating in the AI "society" which might lead to their downfall just as it did the humans. Maybe she thinks the machines and humans are good "checks and balances" to each other and that an orderly future needs both. (I'm thinking she represents virtual good since she's guarded by a seraph.)

    Neo chooses hope over logic.

(sidenote: After the two make The Beast in Zion ,complete with beast faces I may add, does Neo refer to Trinity as Infiniti? It sure sounded like it.)

You are right, I do remember that clip now. So that is a good indication that the Oracle is not necessarily working for the machines alone. I like gootan's theory that she is trying to work out a common ground solution. I mean, she is a program in the Matrix. Initially, the humans wanted to get all the humans out of the matrix and shut it down, which would kill her. So I don't think her desires necessarily match up with the humans. I think she has her own agenda, but in the end it will be a good one.

One of the old trailers (the Japanese one?) had a clip or Trinity, Morpheus, and Seraph (Oracle's bodyguard) shooting guns towards the camera.

oh ok i'm not as stupid as i thought. i just blanked that out, but i remember it now. so the one guy who survived at the end, was he the same dude that agent smith took over? it seemed to be the same person but i'm bad with faces in movies.

man this was a badass movie. all the things it gives you to think about are great. and knowing a possibly more badass film is coming up in 6 months just makes it all the better. LOTR 3 and Matrix 3 at almost the same time, damn. they should come out the same weekend just to see who is the baddest, but that ain't gonna happen.

Yeah, that was the one guy he was able to take over. He tried to take over Morpheus, and if I recall, Neo as well.

Trailer just showed basically a lot of split second scenes and Neo and Agent Smith standing in the rain, about to face off again, and they were surrounded by like a lot of other Agent Smiths. I did also see the oracle's bodyguard in one of the scenes.

    Just got back ! Un-freaking-believable !!!!

I have one point, everyone here keeps mentioning that Neo destroyed the sentinels in the "real world” .

It seemed to me that the other ship E.M.P them …….?

Maybe neo had some sort of connection with the other ship.

Well, he said he could "feel" the sentinels, and whatever he did caused him to go into a coma afterwards. I don't think it was an EMP from the other ship. I think it was Neo doing something to them.

For those who havent seen the teaser for Revolutions:

    http://www.mikedingleyjones.btinternet.co.uk/the.matrix.revolutions.mpg

Thats isnt the exact same teaser that is shown after the movie, but basically has the same scenes. This trailer is off the Enter the Matrix video game which is obtain when u beat the game, hence is why u see Naiobi (sp?) and her sidekick (cant remember the name to save my life) in the beginning and end of the trailer.

hey! none of you mentioned the werewolf or the vampire in the movie!

remember when persephone first brought neo, morpheus, and trinity into her "house"? there were two guys in there that jumped out of their chairs until persephone told them that it was okay. she then proceeded to say that the two guys did the french guy's dirty work because both of them were programs that were "hard to kill". she then mentioned something about silver bullets and then shot one of them with a gun using the silver bullets. the werewolf. i'm assuming the other was a vampire.

whew... i'm glad they didn't actually let the guys transform (sorry i had to use the word "transform") into their respective supernatural-selves. it would have been over the edge. nice behind the scene thing though.

I assumed they were both werewolves. No one ever actually said there was a vampire, they just mentioned that anytime you hear about vampires, ghosts, werewolves or aliens, it is usually a rogue program.

I came outta the flick with the "2 Matrix" Theory as well.

Maybe "The Truth" is actually another lie.

Where does the other rabbit hole lead to, then?

I can't believe the twins were killed off so soon. Sucked.

I forgot to ask this earlier, I came in and missed the first 20 or so minutes of the movie, did they ever actually mention/show what happened to Tank?

I knew they refer to him later, but what actually happened to him?

    I really liked Tank...

Edit: The way the keymaker died was lame.

OK gonna try to answer a couple of questions as best I can.

Dave2000- I believe the game named the sidekick as "Ghost", the weapons man on Niobe's ship. At least that's what he been referred to as in every magazine article I've read about it.

gr8-1- The Architect was talking about the choices we make in our lives, even deciding whether or not to exist in the Matrix. If I had to guess, those images of Neo on the screens were the possible reactions Neo could make to The Architect's statements, and then Neo chose how to react in "real life" (such as it is).

I can see the reasoning behind the "Two Matrix" theory, but I don't know if the Wachowski's would make it like that simply because they've spent the last 2 movies differentiating between "Matrix life" and "Real life". To give the audience the proverbial finger and say, "Oops we never mentioned THIS one, hehehe!" and try to squeeze it all into one movie would lead to a huge mess as everyone fights on 3 different levels of existence. Plus, the Agents have given no indication that they themselves know of any overall Matrix. Why would the creators of the system keep that pertinent little bit of info away from it's own protectors? It's not like they can be tortured into giving up the info. I don't know, but it looks like the Brothers have enough to worry about wrapping up what they've shown us so far.

BGM - the actor portraying Tank couldn't come to terms with the studio to appear in the other 2 movies. So, it sounds like Tank ended up dying from his wounds after saving Neo and Trinity from Cypher in Matrix 1, but not before he got back to Zion and made his brother-in-law, Link, promise to keep an eye on the crew of the Nebuchednezzar (I dunno, it looks right maybe).

One question, what was Aaliyah supposed role before her untimely death? My guess that its Z, the lady that played Link's wife.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was right. Here is some interesting facts from IMDB.

I didn't think that the twins actually died. I mean, they were in the explosion, but as long as they just phase out like they did as they were shot up into the air, it won't hurt them and they can even heal, right? I just assumed that they didn't pursue any further because Morpheus had pretty much delayed them enough to prevent them getting the keymaster.

I would not bet against a Twins appearance in the 3rd movie.

To say that I loved this movie is an understatement. Just un-****ing-credible.

When I left the movie I believed that there where two matrix since 1) agent Smith was able to get into the "real world" in a humans body 2) Neo's powers beginning to work in the "real world" when he stopped the sentinel 3) the outer matrix was created to satisfy that 1% that knew something was wrong in the real world. However, after reading everyone's different views there is so many more possibilities. Good stuff guys!

They didn't ever spell it out. I'm assuming since you said that you knew that they referred to him that you saw the scene with Link and his wife.

I don't think there are Two Matrixes. Neo now has a connection to the machines, so he was able to manipulate them how he wanted. However, he didn't fly or do any of his other stuff, just the bit with the sentinels.

HOLY CRAP this movie was awesome. Started out a bit slow, but OMG it was awesome!!
