    This is not an equal comparison. When we kill cows for milk or meat they are not being tortured for the spectacle of others.

    When the sustenance that the cows can provide can easily be substituted for healthier options that are readily available to you, then the use for that animal becomes unnecessary. In the same way you can avoid harming animals for entertainment, you can avoid harming animals for 'sustenance'.
