We Americans do a lot bad things everyday. So let us not point out that probably most of them were done by Christians since this is a majority Christian country.

there is no doubt in my mind that, once we are gone, the Taliban will be back in no time at all running things. 300,000+ of worthless Afghan security forces who will probably drop their guns and run away at the first sign of violence with no americans to prop them up. they are taking paychecks while they can, though.

i think the hard, core (hardcore) taliban aren't negotiating with anyone. in fact, i bet the allies have no idea really even who they are negotiating with. could be another shopkeeper in pakistan for all they know. the taliban are just waiting it out. i think it's a media blitz to save face that we are in negotiations to make it seem like the pullout isn't seen as giving up. the taliban win either way. they either continue to drain the US resources by having us stay in their country longer while spending billions or we leave and transition to an inept afghan security force that the taliban will have running away like scared rabbits once the taliban make their move to get back power.

we will see how it plays out. even blabbermouth karzai won't be in power when this transition goes down. he'll probably be dead by then or back in the US.
