TV said 9 dead a minute ago. Even if he's uninjured, I don't think he's going to be "okay" when a dozen of his kids get shot. Sorry to say.
It's May and there have been already 22 school shootings? Thoughts and prayers my ass. The blood of young innocent children is being spilled every week and all you can do is pray.
TV also says "one in custody, another detained." It seems they are investigating whether there was an accomplice.
Sherriff Ed Gonzalez: Shortly before 8am, active shooter reported. 1 person in custody, 2nd person of interest detained & being questioned. Multiple fatalities confirmed. Number varies but could be between 8-10, majority students. Injured Santa Fe ISD officer at the hospital. Shooter was a male student.
Literally the only way to solve this is to ban guns completely but you're never going to ban guns in this country. It's way too entrenched into the culture in America and there are so many out there already. RIP to the victims and thoughts/prayers for their families and friends. This is terrible and it's shocking every time (wow!) you hear of another one. 22 in May alone?
I did not imply that he did, I said the line of thinking is BS because it attempts to normalize the idea that nothing can change. That is the thinking that leads to nothing getting done. How much longer do we continue to throw our hands up in the air and say "Can't do anything about this" in the only country where this happens frequently.
Only in Texas. What an embarrassment to show up to the scene with a ****ing gun. Don't give me that excuse that he was there to help when the place was already surrounded by cops.
Well, the "that's not what America needs, we need prayers" bullshit isn't really better, especially when the guy says he owns guns himself. Two idiots in that video.
I graduated from Santa Fe. Spent 12 years of my childhood at that school. This is tearing me up inside, as do all school shootings.
Yes, I think this is the gist. These mass killings occur, "thoughts and prayers," and the NRA sends its leadership out to twist the whole thing around, and they get FOX "News" to help them out....... As long as there is money to be made by selling lots of guns and ammunition, change will take a while. If Sandy Hook simply got so many people to buy into "it didn't happen" / "the government did it to have an excuse to take our guns" theories.... God, just awful. It's always awful but Santa Fe was in or around my stomping grounds (Hitchcock) when I was a kid.
I'm not normally that guy, but with all of the false identification that has happened at the last several events like this, maybe we shouldn't post this?
Mass school shootings have become nothing more than a popularity contest and pissing contest for the unstable trying to outdo each other and gain infamy. It's really unfortunate this is what education has come to. I'm thankful my education occurred before all this BS.
