Its a syrian University. However that isn't the guy who did the shooting.

Well, he was born in 1970. Graduated from med school at 20?

Anyway, it is confirmed he is a Va Tech alum like Cho

All the signs were there - educated in Syria, Islamic background, Islamic name, poor accent... but what's fascinating is how well ranked he was despite all this and what caused him to go berserk in a relatively small setting. It doesn't appear to be premeditated at all.

soldiers training to deploy take fatal fire before they ever leave the US I would think is the tragically ironic point.

The guy joined the military right after high school is what his cousin said. Apparently he felt picked on and harrassed by his colleagues after 9/11 and he then tried to do everything he could to get discharged from the military.

He's 39, and if he went straight out of HS, he had his 20 years in order to retire.

So they can continue blaming the terrorists, the Islamists, the communists, and any other -ists for everything that is wrong with America instead of looking in the mirror.

    Yes, definitely.

Basso's post was one of prayer and sympathy, he wasn't simply laying groundwork for an eventual muslim bashing war in D&D, before the blood even dried.

He was simply "note" ing things for us.

    Out of prayer and sympathy.

    Right DonkeyMagic?

    Right?

    Sanctimoniousness - it's what's for dinner!

See above - never underestimate the value of D&D cool points.

Well, if u think thats what he was aiming for why take the bait/feed the troll/etc.? It takes two to start an argument.

Anyways, this event is probably gonna cause a lot of political ****storm or it's gonna be all covered up, media squelched - could go either way.

Does the sea level rise when you piss in it?

this thread was headed to D&D the very moment his name was revealed. That's the only reason why certain people are even posting in it.

    I don't quite get ur question/insult.

And no, I don't venture into D&D territory that often, so I don't have any preconceptions/prejuidices against any D&D posters.
