He won't play until he gets a new contract due to Covid 2-way adjusted rules. Days don't count, only games BUT... games only count if they get minutes in said game. Stone needs to make some deals and convert his two way, he's proven to be worth it.

Don't do what Morey did with Hartenstein and let valuable young cheap assets waste away. Get this man signed up to a real contract. Clearly worthy.

I'd still sign Gerald Green if a roster spot opens. I want him in the lockerroom. And sign Mason Jones off 2-way later.

No 2-Way/RFA in the NBA has actually left for above the minimum -- pretty sure

I guess Cuban might step-up to compete for a Dallas native. But if Mason is already thinking that, then our assumption that we can just lock him up now, is just an assumption. He might pull a House, and prefer RFA, but we still signed House. Hell, for all we know, Stone and Mason have already agreed to sign later.

iHart was 19 yrs old, in the first year of Vipers. He wasn't going anywhere. Then he signed a "real contract" following year (age 20).
I'm not seeing the connection here.

Hartenstein is actually an example of a player not being poached, when he could have been (he didn't get a 2-way at age 19), because he wanted to stay with team who first wanted him...choosing us over Europe.

Pretty sure a 2-way/RFA has never been poached in the NBA for above the minimum.

point is, it's not one or the other. You can have both Green and Mason.
this invented dichotomy of choice isn't real.

    We just need false dichotomies for discussion, because ... i n t e r n e t

Besides, Green's HTown Never-Quit attitude is infectious for youngsters. Mason and KPjr might really benefit from having a true blood around.

We don’t need a guy who can’t play defense to infect those that can, same for mcLemore.

    no more dummies.

One criticism of Mason Jones if he wants to elevate himself to all star level, handles and passing need to improve! He'll never be explosive enough for an elite all star level SG. Better for him if he can improve his "skills" and become a bigger PG. Think Deron Williams type player. Multiple allstar on a championship contending team. Don't think Harden type LOL those are once in a generation types, let's keep it real.

wait, you're saying McLemore has infected our players.

    ................. Not seeing it :D

c'mon man. I know it's fun to use metaphors ... but Gerald Green is not an infection in the Rockets locker room. Silas loves him, and coaches use the never-quit, positive attitude vets as examples of "always give your best" / "never quit" / "cherish your NBA moment"

    it's
attitude that is infectious (not skill), and guys like KPjr need to be surrounded by it (from family, to coaches, to players). Guys seizing the moment, like Sterling Brown, Nwaba, Tate, aren't going to all of a sudden forget how to hustle from some imaginary virus that Green carries...

and McLemore hasn't infected them yet, anyhow

Yup another good comparison but Miller is HOF level assist leader. Not sure Jones will come close to that type of passer ever. Not even sure he can reach a Deron Williams level assist man but more realistic imo.

Not sure Patty Mills is a great comparison. He was incredibly fast and was a track athlete, I think. Jones will never have that speed.

That's exactly what I was thinking and those same people are ready to run him out of town.

The hero worship can be crazy.

That's correct. Also, what has Harty done for Denver? Nada, barely gets minutes there either.

Not to mention that Patty Mills plays like a spaz and Jones plays with composure

After Christian Wood, Mason Jones has arguably the 2nd best PER 36 on the team...

This kid needs more playing time.
