I thought so too, but when Avery was talking about the playoffs, I then changed my mind and thought they were talking about the playoffs not the finals.

Yeah Avery was talking about the playoffs.

I think Mashburn got confused but if not then I don't see how he can say we have no chance. Now if he said we wouldn't make the playoffs well that is his opinion, but no chance is stretching it.

Yeah because he has gotten so close before right?

The longer we have T-Mac more I hear the this type of stuff the funnier it becomes. Back when we first got him I though yeah he just needs so better players around him but man he has arguably the best center in the league and has never done anything to make that a dangerous 1-2 punch.

...except that we at least had the shot to trade him for something useful before he decided to make his own plans for the rest of the year(without his team's involvement).

I feel the Rockets have the same chance of making the playoffs now as they did a month ago. They've really taken care of business the last two games -- I think everyone's finally focused.

Mashburn clearly hasn't watched us this season; at least Johnson's familiar with our team.

Don't take anything ESPN says seriously.

If you gave any analyst a questionnaire about the Rockets this is how it would go:

"How many technical fouls does Ron Artest have this season so far?"

-"Probably around 10, Does suspension count as one? Cause I'm pretty sure he was suspended for his part in the Phoenix fight..."

    "Answer is one"

"Who is leading the Rockets in scoring off the bench?"

    -"Uhhhhh... Bobby Jackson?"

    "Answer is Aaron Brooks"

    -"That Saints QB?"

    i agree w/ mashburn
i don't see us making the playoffs
we'll be 9th and win 48-50 games max
unless yao turns back to his 05-06/06-07 form which i doubt

Why do you doubt that? Have you not been watching him recently? He has been amazing rebounding, blocking and defending recently. His offensive game will always be there, even if he's hurt he's still probably the best offensive center in basketball if you don't count Duncan one.

1 game? ROFL, Dwight Howard is not the best center in basketball nor best offensive. Far away from best offensive center in the NBA.

Do you want to tell me how many times Dwight Howard has outplayed Yao in his career? It's about as many rings as the Orlando Magic's franchise.

    Okay, let's see...

Ginobili might be out for the season. Jazz lost Boozer. Bynum's out for the regular season. Mavs lost Jason Terry. Hornets lost Chandler. Suns in too deep of a hole. Blazers still young. Nuggets good but not great.

Hmm... We've only lost McGrady, who has been nothing short of detrimental to our season so far. I would say we would probably not have a great chance to get past the second round, but with the way the team is meshing, there's no way we'll miss the playoffs unless Yao goes down again.

You mean the same Dwight Howard who's team played the Toronto Raptors? Stats? That's all you look at? Big Al Jefferson > Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett?

Dwight is their only interior scorer on the Magic, Rockets have plenty of options, do me a favor and study some bball bro. This is about Mashburn and Johnson.

    you got the order wrong
best post player in the game
Dwight Howard > Tim Duncan > Kevin Garnett > Yao
Its not only about stats, but also team success

Mashburn's right about us not making the playoff
and i'm right about yao needing to step his game up more for us to have a chance
