    Yes.

Does that surprise you? I know....I know many here get thrown off by the username. I understand.

PS. Since Atlanta was kind enough to send us Barry in exchange for Lue, do you folks think they will be willing to ship us one of the small forward or Diaw for Sura, James or someone on our roster save for the core-3? They sure need PG help and we have a have a glut of them and conversely we need another swingman :p

I'd use two guys as a yardstick for Marvin Williams his first few years: Maggette and Garnett. CM since he, like M Williams, couldn't start for his own team. KG since he, like M Williams, was picked because of this potential to develop into a superstar.

    CM:
    Y1 - 8.4, 3.9, and 0.8 (5 starts)
    Y2 - 10.0, 4.2, and 1.2 (9 starts)
    Y3 - 11.4, 3.7, and 1.8 (52 starts)
    Y4 - 16.8, 5.0, and 1.9 (57 starts)
    Last Year - 22.2, 6.0, 3.7 (60)

    KG:
    Y1 - 10.4, 6.3, 1.8, (43)
    Y2 - 17.0, 8.1, 3.1, (77)
    Y3 - 18.5, 9.6, 4.2, (82)
    Y4 - 20.8, 10.4, 4.3, (47)
    Last Year - 22.2, 13.5, 5.7 (82)

I'd personally think that Williams should aim to land in between those numbers. If he's below Maggette, the Hawks should worry. Especially since Chris Paul would have been a perfect fit.

The comment that he isn't really in love with the game is red flag, if true.

Hmmmm...interesting.....I never gave that a thought. I remember Tim coming out of Villanova having all that hype because of his size and athletic ability.

It is my opinion that Tim has not reached his max potential and may never reach it. That is really the key - the physical tools are there for Tim and in this case Marvin as well but it the intangible things like desire and work ethic that will ensure that they reach their maximum potential/ability.

Another name out there to think about is Chritian Lattener [sp], Danny Manning and Maybe Toni Kukoc.
