I think Iron Man is still #1 for me. But Cap 2 and Infinity War are up there. Did you like Ultron? I feel like I'm the only one that liked it. But I kind of write-off that dumb stuff the studio shoehorned in (Thor seeing visions of Infinity Stones, etc)...
I enjoyed Ultron. Probably my favorite is Civil War/Ragnarok, depending on my mood. I did enjoy Cap 2, though. Hopefully I like everything about this series. I wasn't blown away by the brief shots of Falcon flying around while missiles are being shot at him.
By standalone I meant non-Avengers type movies, and Civil War was really an Avengers movie if we're being honest. Ultron was OK. I thought it was a bridge movie to set up a lot of things. At the time it was amazing, but has since been eclipsed by a lot of other MCU movies. Ragnarok is my wife's favorite and gets the most play in my house. It's funny as hell, the action is good and the actors are fun to watch. Oh and Cate Blanchett is smoking as Hela. I never thought she was attractive but that Hela getup does it. Cap 2 just felt like a high octane spy/government thriller (which it was). The Russos got my fanship for life with that one. That's what I'm hoping for with this show.
Winter Soldier is still one of my favorite movies. I'm in love with all of the Russo's films, honestly. And I think Civil War is vastly underrated despite how highly regarded it is. I know the Russos didn't direct this, but Winter Soldier is one of my favorite characters. The Disney+ Marvel Legends mini-episode for Falcon got me super hype for him too. I've been waiting for this much longer than I was waiting for Wandavision.
Ragnarok > everything. Korg = GOAT. I see y’all discussing the early Captain America movies. While we are on the subject of bad movies, could someone explain to me why Wolverine is so popular? Lame story and a lame outfit. He has to be one of the worst superheroes ever, not including DC garbage.
Wolverine used to be written as a supporting character. He was mysterious, funny, violent... pretty cool. Few lines. His solo stuff was dark and grim. Then the cartoon came along (90s) and turned him into a lead because he was so popular. Downhill from there IMO.
It’s time for x23 preferably Dafne Keen as a closer to late teen/ 20 ish heroine ...however she’s starting to look more like a mila kunis clone which I’m not sure gives her the nod for the role
