That said, I really like Civil War better. By a small margin. Human leader vs human leader. Group against equal group. Personal issues vs personal issues. I really loved it. I really like Thanos as well. Less Infinity Stone universal power, more grind it out Earth style action.
Spoiler Marvel does not own the rights to X-Men or FF currently. Disney bought Fox but that deal does not clear until next year I believe. The X-Men and FF movies you've seen are not Marvel Studios movies, they're Fox movies.
rewatched it last night. There is one issue I had upon rewatching Spoiler Vision looked like he was a total badass in Age of Ultron and possesses an Infinity Stone yet is quickly subdued in this film. His body is supposed to be made out of vibranium but he got stabbed all the way through. That weapon shouldnt have be able to penetrate him though right? Even after he was wounded he was pretty useless throughout the film. I dont know fully the powers of the mind stone, but at least in the MCU the mind stone gave Wanda her powers and she is looked upon as one of the strongest avengers with here psychic/telekenetic powers. If she had enough power to destroy the mind stone, the same stone that gave her power - I mean Vision should have been able to wreak havoc with it. He is also an android shouldnt his system been able to repair themselves somehow? I think that was the only thing they probably handled poorly I think Vision could have still been himself and Thanos could have killed him and taken the stone.
Spoiler Corvus Glaive's weapon is special, he could definitely Pierce vibranium with it. Vibranium is the hardest substance on EARTH, but there are harder substances. I definitely agree Vision was pretty weak the whole movie, he did manage to kill Corvus who is supposed to be immortal however...so he has that going for him. I was surprised Corvus was able to deflect a blast from the mind stone so easily. With that said I think Vision will come back, they spent too long explaining how they could save him for them not to.
Spoiler Spiderman and Han Solo were my favorite characters growing up. I love Holland in that role. It was tough to watch him go like that, and I'm a grown ass man (at least sometimes)
Spoiler That makes some sense but there wasn't much background given on the Black Order and their abilities. Vision did mention he couldnt phase out because of the wound from the weapon. Vision was still made to look super weak, he killed Corvus with his own weapon though from behind, so it wasn't like he overpowered him. He just got a basically a cheap shot in when Corvus was engaged with Cap. I mean its total nitpicking in an amazing film dont get me wrong, but everything surrounding Vision was the weakest point in the movie for me. It was unfortunate because it would have been cool to see Vision out there fighting alongside everyone. He was supposed to be one of the strongest avengers and he looked like one of the weakest out there. I will appreciate seeing this movie again though maybe in a week or so during the week when there are smaller crowds. There was a lot of clapping, cheering and all which I understand (not everyone is like me when watching a movie) but as a result there was dialogue that couldn't be heard over the crowd. Last night's group was a bit more than excessive the guy behind me was asking people to tone it down because it was hard to hear. Its weird though seeing it twice which jokes people laughed at when I first saw it compared to the second time. Spoiler For example people thought it was hilarious when Thor mentioned he took Groot as an elective on Asgard when I first saw it. Crickets last night. Also there was a group of people who thought Thor calling Rocket 'Rabbit' throughout the film the funniest thing in the world. That got annoying to me after a while.
If you look at it that way... Spoiler Corvus got in a cheap shot of his own with his initial blow, by sneaking up from behind when he and Wanda were in the street. That caught me off guard so much I jumped out of my seat... which never happens in a comic movie. But that tells you that they respect the power the infinity stone(s) give to a character wielding one at full strength.
Agreed 100%, but like you said, not a biggie. But since you're bringing up minor things that didn't make the movie any less enjoyable, but still felt a bit strange. I have one... Spoiler Why didn't Strange just use the time stone to go back a few seconds, before Quill engages him, take out Quill, and get the Gauntlet? I know, I know, he saw many possible futures... but still....
Spoiler Well, for that matter I don't know why he didn't just create a portal to another planet/place, move it partway over Thano's arm up to the elbow, and then close the portal. Bam, Infinity Gauntlet is severed from Thanos and they can go retrieve it. Easy peasy, Japanesey. But I guess that would have been too easy.
Well I think you answered your own question Spoiler he already saw 14 million+ possibilities and they all ended poorly except for one. I'd imagine the possibility you are talking about was one of them. That said, I agree to a certain extent, Dr Strange should have been able to simply open up a portal, pull Thanos' arm with the gauntlet through it with the help of others and then cut off the portal. I mean, but if that happened, would you really be satisfied with it as a viewer? It would kill the end of the movie plus it would eliminate the next.
