Man I cant wait for this movie. Even if it isn't as good as the first, I am looking forward to it. I absolutely loved the first one.
8.5/10. It was almost perfect, didn't give it 10/10 because they deviated from the comics & changed a few things. I was dying at the part where baby Groot was trying to figure out what they wanted him to retrieve. Nebula stole the show too, she was awesome.
i think they took what worked in gotg 1 a d repeated the schitte out of it. most of the time it worked. there things that didn't make sense, but that's ok. however i don't get how drax suddenly has the ability to lie (repeatedly). i thought he was incapable of even sarcasm, let alone flat out lie. he's supposed to take everything literally. also i know nothing about the gotg comics, so any deviation is unknown to me. however i am quite displeased with what they did to that one character.
I saw it last night and I'd say it was pretty good. There's things that could be nit picked, but overall it was a fun watch. I'd certainly recommend it to people.
Side note: Stay for the "after credits scene" ... They introduce a pivotal character (bamf) for the Infinity War Arc.
Saw it Thursday night, I really enjoyed it as much as the first one. Only gripe is that it didn't have enough baby groot.
Forgiven the makers for Spoiler letting the original Guardians turn up so late. But they did eventually.
Didn't love the "villain" but I really enjoyed it. It's silly, funny, action, Hollywood blockbuster indulgence, that anyone can enjoy.
I thought it was a solid movie but felt clunkier than the first film. It could have used some trimming and streamlining, laughs were there but didn't feel as organic as it was in the first film......gave it a B-
For silly, funny, action Hollywood Blockbusters, it ain't a Michael Bay production even though it has the prerequisite amount of explosions. Very good movie. Liked the villain portrayal more than Ronan.
I thought it was pretty damn good. The only thing I didn't like - was I felt they forced their hand with trying to make Drax funny and tried a little too hard in that respect. Other than that it was great. Loved the fact the trailer in no way gives you an indication of where this movie is headed. I was surprised sitting in that cinema, since trailers these days usually spoil the entire thing. The feels at the end though....
Spoiler Heard his next appearance was GOTG3 which I believe will be after the infinity war/gauntlet arc. If so, that changes him to post-Phase 3 character.
Does peter still have celestial powers? is he still immortal to some extent? I saw the light extinguished but part of me thinks that the part that he pulled from Ego is gone but he still has his own light.
Well that's a huge let down Spoiler Because based on the comics, he's the one that ends up with Infinity Gauntlet after Nebula takes it off Thanos' hand & he's an important factor in defeating Thanos
Spoiler My guess is that he is still a celestial and is as immortal as Ego was (i.e. a big stick of dynamite blown up on his brain should work just as well). I think he will be able to manifest his celestial powers through use of an Element Gun.
No where close to Michael Bay trash which I never find entertaining. This was Marvel silly and funny, a Marvel Hollywood Blockbuster which typically include one-liner jokes when everyone's lives are in danger and overall doesn't take itself or any scene too seriously. But this movie had moments that would make any drama proud as well. Like I was saying, I really enjoyed the movie I just wasn't feeling the villians (this movie had several) because they weren't evil enough or their motive was weak or weakly explained. Also even though the scene was amazing I was not happy with what they did to one of the most interesting and best characters in the series. I would have preferred another character.
