Fans overhype everything . .. . DC Fan VASTLY overrated Justice League and BcS Star Wars fans vastly overrated The Last JEdi . . . IT is the nature of fans of movies/etc OFF TOPIC: Luke Cage was Great until ___________ died. . . . . after that it was WACK Rocket River
Luke Cage's unfixable problem remains Mike Colter. He has no business being a lead. He's 1/10th the actor Chadwick Boseman is.
Well . . yea. . . .he was getting chewed up on the screen by EVERYONE else When the weakest actor in your series . . .is the main character .. . that sucks Rocket River
I dunno. So far, 58 reviews, and it's still at 100%. I think that's enough of a sample size to gauge whether or not you'll like it / whether it's worth the price of admission. Luke Cage is a different story, since the entire season wasn't in the early reviews. I'm pretty sure only like, the first 3-4 episodes were given to reviewers to review. And I personally though the first half of Luke Cage was stronger than the second half. For Black Panther and those 58 Rotten Tomato reviewers, they've seen the entire product.
It's the new way studios are gaming the RT % system. They also did it with Annabelle: Creation but with about 20 reviewers. It is at 69% now. They preview the movie to "very enthusiastic reviewers" that are specifically selected. No other critics are screened the movie and then the RT% sits at 100% for weeks. I'm sure this one will only drop to about 94-96% but this is a marketing ploy, not a true representation of how a random selection of critics will feel about the film.
I feel bad for the first non-white reviewer to give this an average rating. Black twitter will have a field day. Spoiler Issa joke
Idk how true this is, but I believe you! People can also go to Metacritic (which I think is a great alternative to RT) and it's sitting at an 87%. 22 positive reviews, with all the reviews being given a numerical score, vs RT's "pass/fail" of fresh/rotten.
People forget Rotten Tomatoes has an average score because the Tomatometer is emphasized so much. So far, Black Panther is at 8.6/10, which is very good. The Dark Knight also rated 8.6/10. I think it's safe to say this is a very good movie. The Tomatometer is poor measurement for greatness and has become a marketing tool for the website. Average rating is a better indicator to judge a film.
It changes both numbers but people only care about the % It is just a stepped embargo. They will have the real reviews up a few days before the movie is actually released. In the meantime they got to have a 100% RT for everyone to see. They are spending hundreds of millions to market this movie, you have to use whatever tactics are available.
I’ve been trying not to over-hype it, but I want it to succeed so badly the only black superhero’s I had growing up were Static Shock and John Stewart, the black Green Lantern I thought Luke Cage was better than Jessica Jones, and easily better than Iron Fist, but not as good as Daredevil
MCU isn't really know for using this strategy. They might be doing it now. But it's not like Ant Man was sitting at 100% for 2 weeks or anything. I don't think GotG2 was all that high either.
