No he didn't. He set up Robin as Batman and then before the credit roll, Bruce Wayne is still alive in another country somewhere.. There was never been any Detective Blake Batman movie. There have never been any batman movies without Bruce Wayne. In the comics Batman has ALWAYs come back to Bruce Wayne. Steve Rodgers is still alive to pass Captain America to someone else. bro. that's the point.
And you think you have? Interesting. I hope everything is going ok with you because you seem to be very angry lately.
You should rewatch the Nolan movies because they're good and you clearly missed an important theme. Batman was a symbol not a person. Bruce Wayne retiring to live out his life was an important arc for his character. To move on from Batman. Harvey Dent was his escape plan. Install Harvey Dent, retire with Rachel. Instead Rachel died and the Dent angle was lost. After that, Alfred was worried Bruce wouldn't stop until he was dead. Bruce gets what he wants. Blake inherits all the Bat toys and the Bat signal is restored. Emphasis on BAT. Not Robin. The dude's name was Robin Blake. He is clearly setup to play Batman. The Robin costume & character doesn't exist in this universe. And Robin Blake doesn't exist in the comic universe. You cant pull-in comic knowledge (of Robin) into a contained short story that exists in its own universe.
I watched the films. Robin is set up to be Batman. Bruce Wayne is alive and still a character and his story was told through 3 films. In no world would they make a movie about Detective Blake as Batman. I think the disconnect that people have here is you guys think T'Challa is not at the level of a Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent so he can be discarded like it's nothing thinking It's Black Panther that's the important thing. You giving me a quote from Bruce Wayne about Batman is also hilarious. If T'Challa was able to have 3 movies and his full story was told then he passed the mantle I would have no leg to stand on. Recast so T'Challa can have a full story then. Just like Nolan's Bruce Wayne, Just like Steve Rodgers.
man this guy, even though he was #RecastTChalla, up until the run up to the film was trying to give the film the benefit of the doubt. He didn't like this film at all. wow. You really cant trust some reviews because this is a black film and they dont want to say their true feelings because people might say something. This is a shocking review IMO was not expecting this.
He isnt a mega fan boy though, that's why this review is shocking to me. He likes Black Panther in a sense he likes Black representation in general. He's not reading comics or anything like that. He's a general fan.
Ok, I get that. So he built up this black representation of a hero in his head. That's fanboy-level hype, regardless of basis, and is doomed to be disappointed. And the formula has changed since BP1 so something somewhere skewed his expectations. Haven't watched the full review yet, but I want to see a review that isn't based on massive expectations- that's what I meant by 'fanboy'. Passion to the point of unreal expectations.
