I agree that a black actor is getting torpedoed more quickly than his white counterparts, but I don't think Dana White is the best comparison. Jonathan Majors, who was arrested last month after allegedly assaulting a female companion, made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning via Zoom regarding the status of the case. The conference was reportedly very brief, and the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star didn't have much to say. The judge discussed a motion filed by Majors’ defense team that the prosecution has until May 23 to respond to. The actor is due to appear in court on June 13, when a decision will be made regarding said motion. If he fails to turn up, a warrant can be issued for his arrest within 48 hours. If Majors is found guilty, he could face up to a year behind bars or a three-year probation term. Majors' lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, is still adamant that her client did nothing wrong, and is now claiming that he is a victim of "racial bias." “We have provided the District Attorney with irrefutable evidence that the woman is lying, including video proof showing nothing happened, especially not where she claimed,” she said in a statement (via Deadline). “We did this with the explicit promise from the DA that they would not 'fix' their case and change it as we proved the woman is lying.” “This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims,” Chaudhry added, citing a glaring double standard. “Instead of dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman’s clear lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman’s new lies. To be clear, there are no new charges against Mr. Majors.” Though she didn't provide any details, Chaudhry is also claiming to have more evidence that will ultimately exonerate Majors. "Now, we have obtained even more video evidence of his innocence, but we are hesitant to share it, for fear the DA will tip the woman off to change her story again. The criminal justice system is saturated with explicit and implicit bias. When Mr. Majors showed a white police officer the injuries the woman caused him, the white officer got in Mr. Majors’ face and taunted him, saying that if the officer were to slap Mr. Majors, the officer wouldn’t break his finger. None of the white officers present investigated the assault of Mr. Majors. Worse, the District Attorney has not indicated any intention to pursue charges against the woman, or even investigate the truth." Majors has already been dropped from several high-profile projects, but Marvel Studios has yet to take any action or comment on the situation. There are rumors that Kevin Feige and co. are looking into potential Kang replacements, but that's yet to be confirmed.

I feel like Marvel execs have probably requested the video proof. I can't imagine they're really just waiting around like the rest of us to find out if the attorney is full of it or not.
If the guy might be in jail for a year what choice do they have? If you think Marvel wanted to “cancel” Majors you are crazy. Marcel banked the entire next two phases on him.
If I was Feige I wouldn’t recast Majors. I would instead lean on the comic storyline where it is Dr. Doom really pulling the strings. Put Kang on the bench indefinitely. The nice thing that Quantumania does is it does essentially bench Kang but leaves a massive door open for his variants which could be any actor. But at the same time why not instead use the comic storyline of Secret Wars earlier to have Doom step in sooner rather than later.
Would be really easy to refilm the post-credits scene with all of the Kangs being different people/actors.
I think for what I read... He probably isn't going to be charged. He has some witnesses that basically show the woman's story doesn't match up. Either way... if he gets charged... I would still wait for his release. Movies need to focus on quality over woke agenda if they truly want to be successful.
