You can't complain about having too many power forwards, a redundant Kevin Martin and no stars and then b**** about paying too much to get a legit up and coming All-Star calibre guard. He has a 6' 9" wingspan, elite speed, can shoot from the outside and draws fouls going to the basket at a high rate. His injury history is the only way he would be available at 23. I think it's worth the gamble for the Rockets.
Interesting Scenario at the SG position for both clubs Assume we get Gordon, he will for sure start, so Lee will continue to back up and Lamb be third string? Or are we letting Lee walk and Lamb to back up Gordon. If we include Lamb in the trade, Hornets have Martin, Rivers and Lamb, again logjammed at the 2 unless they bench Martin and let him walk after this season.
If they won't go[offer] 4/55 on Hibbert, they sure as hell won't or better not go on that for Gordon.
This alone says I can b**** all I want. As far as 'gamble', we've gambled on injury-prone players before. How'd that work out? I'll take Eric Gordon, sure. You don't have to open the jewelry section and say, "Take 2 of anything, I don't care the cost."
EG is definitely the type player the Rox are looking for. He's young, all-star caliber and has more upside. I like his all around game. I would like to have him on the court to close a game. I think he can overcome the injury label, he doesn't come across as a "delicate" player. I think the exact opposite, he drives to the rim in traffic and dunks in your face. He also is active on defense and doesn't "take a rest" on that side of the floor. I do think as he ages and matures he will adjust his game to be able to finish a whole season. It takes talent to get a talent like him, so I am game with throwing in a couple rookies that haven't even put on a uni along with a disgruntled vet to get EG. What surprises me is he's asking for the max already in his young career, but I'll let Les worry about that. He is the kind of scorer and difference maker I would like to see pared with Dragic.
I wouldn't mind this trade at all considering we still would have Lowry/Scola as trade bait to pair someone else up.
Gotta give Feigen props on this. I have to admit, I thought going after Gordon sounded unlikely when he reported it before the draft.
His body is already starting to break down I would rather have OJ Mayo, he is solid defender( with a better upside)... think Courtney Lee on steriods

How do you know they won't offer Hibbert that much? He's restricted, Indy has gazillion capspace, and no one else to give big money to. It shouldn't take a degree from MIT to figure out that they'd match any offer out there.
I'm taking Feigen's word and he said the Rockets won't offer the max. If you don't believe so, that's fine too. Even if they did, I agree, they match. What's the downside of doing it?
That they miss out on someone else while going after Hibbert, say Asik for example. If something has no upside and small downside, it's still stupid to do it.
Are they missing out on Asik while they're reportedly going after Gordon too, a RFA, who the Hornets are likely to keep? It's whatever...
