I don't know if anyone has been paying attention, but Gordon has made it clear he doesn't want to play in New Orleans. NO fans are talking a lot about S&Ting possibilities and the Rockets obviously have a lot of assets that attract them. Here's one of the many threads on their site talking about dealing him: http://www.hornetsreport.com/HRForu...-for-Gordon-Gordon-trade-possibilities-merged
There's a huge difference in not wanting to play in New Orleans when Phoenix is the alternative vs wanting to play anywhere but New Orleans. He loves Phoenix and I don't really blame him. I think it's that simple. Gordon was impressed by Phoenix, he could have got a max offer from other teams but he wants to play in Phoenix. They have the best training staff in the NBA and if he gets on a good medical program and stays healthy, he gets to be a superstar--something he's wanted all his life. Our training staff allows multiple stress fractures to franchise players, I don't think Gordon would rather play in Houston than New Orleans, like he would rather play in Phoenix than New Orleans.
Lol, seriously? Eric's max is 4 year / $58 mil but you say he wouldn't go over 4 year / $50 mil to get a player other great NBA talent would want to be alongside? That's not worth overpaying $2 mil/year? Jersey sales and national coverage revenue will cover that. I don't think the Suns got Gordon to sign over $2 million. That organization is more attractive, let's face it.
I wouldn't do that trade. Haven't we learned anything about injury prone stars by now? Please give the young guys a chance. Gordon is not big enough a star for this kind of trade. Pass.
I wonder if the following is true. I think most of us here on cfans said back end of the lottery but no.2....ayayay. "Just read a comment on ESPN that said two NBA execs interviewed said that if Montiejunas was in the draft this year, after the year he put in overseas, he would have been the #2 pick." are those 2 execs maury and another rocket? =)
Two sounds to high, but top 5 or 8 would not be a reach for someone with D-Mo's physical and athletic abilities and his skill.
Possibly, but with Gordon saying he feels disrespected by the Hornets lack of communication and complaining when they drafted another combo guard in Austin Rivers, I think he might feel that Houston might be more desirable than New Orleans.
I dunno why he didn't stick around for the next supposedly superstar in the making but that's good for rockets. keep NO irrelevant. they should switch name to saints.
